Sanrio cards are a separate collaboration collection. Nintendo’s New Horizons FAQ lists Sanrio cards as compatible with the game’s visitor feature at The Roost, but that statement does not establish that they work for every Happy Home Paradise interaction.

- Regular NPCs: Nintendo says they can be invited to The Roost and the campsite.
- Special NPCs: They can be invited to The Roost, but not to the campsite or to live on your island. Nintendo includes characters featured on Series 5 cards in this group.
These are New Horizons destination rules, not a complete card-by-card guide to every interaction in Happy Home Paradise. Check the specific character and the destination or feature you want to use rather than assuming that one successful use guarantees all others.

You need the full Animal Crossing: New Horizons game to play Happy Home Paradise. Nintendo says the DLC is sold separately. Amiibo cards do not replace either the base game or the DLC.

What should I check before buying a card?
- Series: For direct Happy Home Paradise compatibility confirmation, choose a card from Series 1–5.
- Character: Check whether the card features the character you want; regular and special NPCs have different campsite and island limits.
- Destination: Confirm that the intended use is supported. Nintendo’s Roost guidance does not promise that a card works identically at the campsite, on the island, or in the DLC.
- Pack contents: Nintendo describes Series 5 as a random selection, so a pack may not contain the character you want. Check the identity and series of an individual card before buying.
