Some ARK caves contain wild creatures that can be tamed, but most cave spawns are not tameable—and a creature being able to enter a cave after taming is a separate matter. The ARK Official Community Wiki’s category lists 13 caves with tameable cave-spawn creatures across five maps. Treat that list as a starting point, not a guarantee for every creature or game edition.
Which ARK caves have tameable wild spawns?
The ARK Official Community Wiki’s Caves with tamable creatures category lists these 13 cave pages:

This category identifies caves whose pages include tameable cave-spawn creatures; it does not establish that every creature in each cave can be tamed. The available overview does not reliably map a tameable species to every listed cave, so check that cave’s current page and your game edition before planning around a specific animal.
Why the cave name alone is not enough
Most creatures that spawn in caves are not tameable, according to the wiki’s caves overview. It names Megalosaurus, Dung Beetle, and Glowtail among exceptions or special cases, but the page is marked outdated. Do not assume those examples apply to every cave, map, or edition.

- Chop down trees and mine metal and other precious resources to build massive multi-leveled structures composed of complex snap-linked parts
There are explicit counterexamples: the wiki marks wild cave spawns in Swamp Cave, Snow Cave, and The Caverns of Lost Faith as untameable. In other words, a cave can contain creatures without offering any tameable wild spawns.
Wild spawns and creatures you bring in are different
“Can I tame something here?” and “Can my tamed mount enter here?” are separate questions. Cave pages may list wild spawns separately from compatible tamed creatures. For example, the Swamp Cave page describes its cave spawns as untameable while separately discussing tamed creatures that can enter. A mount’s entry compatibility does not mean its wild counterpart can be tamed in that cave.

How to verify a cave for your game
- Find the map and cave. Use the 13-cave category as an index, then open the individual cave page.
- Check the wild-spawn section. Confirm that the species you want is listed as tameable in the cave; do not infer tameability from its presence.
- Check your game edition and version. Cave and creature behavior can vary, and the broad caves overview is marked outdated. Verify against the edition you play rather than treating a general wiki listing as a current guarantee.
- Check entry compatibility separately. If you already have a tame, look for the cave page’s compatible-tamed-creatures information. Some of those tables are explicitly incomplete.
The wiki pages are useful references, but the cave overview’s outdated notice and incomplete compatibility tables mean a cave-by-cave check matters—especially when the plan depends on one specific creature.
