Choose the class whose combat style sounds most appealing: Vanguard for physical melee, Flameweaver for fire and one-handed weapons, Spellbinder for chaotic magic, Nightshade for poison and dual daggers, Wyldwarden for natural forces, or Vindicator for celestial powers. Official descriptions identify these six classes but do not establish one as the best, easiest, or strongest. Your weapons, off-hand item, abilities, and skills also shape how a character plays.

What are the six classes in Mandragora?

Xbox Wire’s combat guide identifies six classes. Their descriptions point to different combat themes, rather than a verified ranking of difficulty or strength.

Class Broad combat identity Consider it if you want
Vanguard Physical melee, shields, and heavy weapons Direct close-range fighting with heavy gear or a shield
Flameweaver Fire and one-handed weapons To pair fire with a one-handed weapon
Spellbinder Chaotic energies and magic A magic-focused style associated with chaotic power
Nightshade Poison, swift eliminations, and dual daggers Quick attacks, poison, and a paired-dagger approach
Wyldwarden Powers associated with natural forces A nature-themed set of powers
Vindicator Powers associated with celestial energies A celestial-themed set of powers

How should you choose?

Start with the kind of moment-to-moment fighting you want, not a claim about which class is universally strongest. Ask yourself whether you would rather fight up close or rely more on spells, whether heavy weapons and shields or quick dual daggers sound more appealing, and which power theme—fire, poison, nature, chaotic energy, or celestial energy—interests you.

Also consider how you feel about managing Mana if you expect to use magic. The developer says Mana does not regenerate by default; consumables and Witch Stones can replenish it. That makes Mana management a relevant part of the choice, but the available official descriptions do not quantify how demanding it is for each class.

Does your starting class lock you into one playstyle?

No. Your class is a starting identity, not the only source of your eventual build. The developer says weapons, off-hand items, special abilities, and chosen active skills all help shape your playstyle. Its talent-tree guide describes mixed-build options, while the official FAQ says players can combine skills across class trees to create hybrid playstyles.

The FAQ reports more than 200 skill upgrades across the game. That figure describes the upgrade system overall, not the number of upgrades available to one class or a promise that every combination is equally effective. The practical takeaway is to choose for the starting combat identity you want, knowing that skills from other trees can broaden your build.

Is any class best for beginners?

The official class descriptions and FAQ do not provide a controlled comparison of first-playthrough difficulty, nor a current ranking of class strength. So a confident recommendation that one class is easiest or strongest would go beyond what those sources establish. Pick the style you are most motivated to learn, and treat any class-specific difficulty or balance claim as dependent on current game updates and evidence beyond these broad descriptions.
