Far Cry 4 can end in roughly 15 minutes if you reach its secret alternate ending: at Pagan Min’s palace, ignore the escape objectives and wait for him to return. This is a brief story-ending route, not a normal completion of the campaign.
How to reach Far Cry 4’s secret ending

Start Far Cry 4 and play through the opening until Pagan Min takes Ajay to his palace.

When Pagan leaves and tells Ajay to wait, do not follow the apparent escape objectives. Stay where you are and wait for Pagan to return.

After he comes back, follow the conversation and go with him to scatter Ajay’s mother’s ashes. The story ends shortly afterward.

The route works because Ajay is not treated as a threat if he stays put. Pagan offers to help fulfill Ajay’s mother’s wish, bringing the story to an early alternate ending rather than sending Ajay into the usual adventure. Jeuxvideo.com described the wait as about ten minutes in one passage and characterized the whole experience as roughly fifteen minutes; it is an estimate, not a guaranteed stopwatch time. Dialogue and loading can affect elapsed time.
What “beat the game” means here
Waiting for Pagan produces an ending, but it skips the ordinary campaign. Speedrun.com separates Far Cry 4 runs by category and ending type, so an alternate-ending result should not be compared directly with a full-game run.

Speedrun.com’s times use the labels shown in each category, including LRT and RTA. They are leaderboard results, not a promise of how long a casual playthrough will take.
Does another Far Cry game have a short ending?
Yes. Speedrun.com also lists a separate alternative-ending category for Far Cry 5, including a recent run of 6m 34s when the page was accessed in 2026. That leaderboard establishes that the short-ending category exists, but it is not a walkthrough and does not establish how to trigger it. The clearest answer to the 15-minute question remains Far Cry 4: its palace sequence is a documented early-game choice that can end the story without completing the standard campaign.
