A Diner Cupboard is reported at 16 slots, a Chambers Shelf at 12, and a Cafeteria Table at 10. For guns, the Polished Weapon Rack is the leading option at four weapon slots. These are Outpost furniture capacities, not additions to your standard Raider Stash, and the figures come from the current community catalogue and player reports rather than an official Embark capacity ranking.
This guide applies to Frozen Trail version 2.0.0, released on 8 October 2026. It explains which designs hold the most, what each type can accept, how to check a design before spending materials, and what to do when placement or storage behaves unexpectedly.

The practical first choice is therefore simple: start with Sturdy Shelves for the largest reported pool of non-weapon items, then add Polished Weapon Racks if guns are consuming your Stash. Do not compare “24 slots” and “four weapons” as if they were interchangeable. Each design exposes a container for a particular class of item.

Furniture storage is separate from the Raider Stash
Frozen Trail 2.0.0 added the Outpost and two further Stash upgrade tiers. Embark’s 8 October 2026 patch notes set the standard Stash ceiling at 328 slots, excluding Expedition rewards and space acquired through the Nomadic Envoy. That 328-slot figure is the capacity of the ordinary Stash; it is not a furniture total and does not tell you how many objects your Outpost can hold.

Furniture is an additional display and storage system inside the Outpost. Your usable total depends on the furnishing and placement slots you have unlocked, the designs you can build, and the item categories you need to keep. Because the published notes do not give a complete placement limit or a universal maximum, no single “fully upgraded Outpost” number can be stated reliably.
Why the Sturdy Shelf is the best general-storage upgrade
Sturdy Shelf: 24 reported slots
Recent player observations and the furniture catalogue put the Sturdy Shelf at 24 slots, the highest reported capacity for one item-holding general-purpose furnishing in the current version. It is the strongest candidate when your problem is a broad collection of trinkets, fruit, or other eligible non-weapon items.
The 24 is a furniture-container value, not 24 unrestricted Stash spaces. A shelf can appear full even while you have other objects that the design will not accept. Check the placement interface with the exact item selected before planning around the number.

Diner Cupboard: 16 reported slots
The Diner Cupboard is listed at 16 slots. It is a useful alternative when you have access to the design but not the Sturdy Shelf, or when the cupboard fits your room layout better. The catalogue value does not establish that every general item can be placed inside it, so verify compatibility in game.

Chambers Shelf: 12 reported slots
The Chambers Shelf is listed at 12 slots. It provides less capacity per piece than the Sturdy Shelf or Diner Cupboard, but can still be worthwhile where the Outpost’s available footprint or design access makes a smaller furnishing easier to deploy.
Cafeteria Table: 10 reported slots
Community reports put the Cafeteria Table at 10 slots for general items. Tables and shelves are often discussed together because they can hold similar categories, but their eligible-item lists are not documented comprehensively. Treat the 10-slot figure as a reported table capacity, not a promise that it accepts every object a shelf does.
Weapon racks solve a different bottleneck
Polished Weapon Rack: four guns
The Polished Weapon Rack is the best-supported choice for weapons. The furniture catalogue lists four attached slots, and a recent player report confirms that it holds four guns. Moving spare weapons to the rack can free ordinary Stash space without consuming a general-item shelf.
Sturdy Weapon Rack: four listed slots
The catalogue also lists four attached slots for the Sturdy Weapon Rack. Because the available player report specifically demonstrates the Polished rack, use the in-game preview to confirm behavior for the Sturdy version on your account and build.

Battered Weapon Rack: three guns
The Battered Weapon Rack is listed with three attached slots. It is a lower-capacity option for players who need weapon display early or cannot yet make the higher-tier designs.
Weapon-rack slots are weapon-specific. A rack is not a four-slot substitute for a Sturdy Shelf, and a shelf is not a place to park four guns unless the interface explicitly permits it.
What can go on shelves, tables and seating?
Player reports describe shelves and tables as useful for trinkets, fruit and some other item classes. Racks are used for weapons. Seating has been reported as a place for Spring Cushions. The complete eligibility matrix for every design is not established in Embark’s published notes, so the safe rule is to test the item class in the Outpost UI rather than infer compatibility from the furniture’s appearance.

How to choose and install the right upgrade
- Identify the item class causing the shortage. Separate guns from general loot, then note whether the remainder is trinkets, fruit, cushions or another category. This prevents buying a high-capacity shelf for a weapon problem.
- Open the Outpost furniture shop and inspect the design. Read the displayed slot count and any attached-slot information. Treat the count as design capacity, not universal inventory space.
- Check the design’s research and material gates. A design may require a research unlock in addition to crafting resources. Do not assume that seeing a design in the catalogue means it is immediately buildable.
- Compare capacity with the placement slots you have unlocked. A 24-slot shelf only helps if you have an available furnishing position and enough room to place it without blocking another slot.
- Build and place the furniture in the Outpost. Use a clear location first. After placement, select a known compatible item and confirm that the container accepts it before relocating a large amount of loot.
- Reserve racks for guns. If weapons are the largest source of Stash pressure, place a Polished or Sturdy Weapon Rack; use a Battered rack when that is the available tier.
- Recheck after an update. Frozen Trail 2.0.0 is the version covered here, and community figures can change when Embark adjusts designs or fixes placement behavior.

These are in-game crafting requirements, not purchases outside the game. Material costs can make a lower-capacity design the sensible short-term choice if you already have its recipe and the higher-tier design is still locked.
Planning capacity without overpromising a total
Use a category-based plan rather than adding raw slot numbers together. First allocate weapon racks for guns. Then use the largest available general-item design, beginning with Sturdy Shelves where the recipe and placement slot are available. Fill remaining positions with Diner Cupboards, Chambers Shelves or Cafeteria Tables according to the item classes they accept and the shape of your room.
Do not publish or rely on a universal Outpost total based only on the 24-, 16-, 12- and 10-slot figures. Community reports differ on how many positions can be unlocked and whether stored furniture itself can be used as an additional container. Your account’s module unlocks and the current build determine the real total.

The design shows slots, but my item will not go in
Check the item category first. Shelves and tables are not unrestricted containers, and weapon racks accept guns rather than general loot. If the category should be eligible, learn the design and retry; some players report that compatibility details are hidden until the recipe is learned.

I cannot place the furniture in an apparently empty area
Confirm that the furnishing position itself is unlocked and that the object is not clipping into another module, wall or floor. Embark’s Outpost community guide records known clipping and blocked-slot problems. A placement failure can therefore be an early-version bug rather than evidence that the design has no storage function.
I stored a rack or filled furniture and cannot find it
Community reports say racks and filled furniture may be stored in Outpost storage, but the exact allowed counts and placement opportunities are not specified in the official update notes. Check the Outpost storage interface and your unlocked modules; do not assume every design can be nested or stored in unlimited quantities.
The number in the shop does not match what I expected
Separate attached slots from general slots and compare the same design category. A four-slot weapon rack and a 24-slot shelf measure different item types. Also remember that the figures here are community-maintained observations, so the in-game display is the authority for your current build.

Embark officially confirms the Outpost feature, the two new Stash tiers and the 328-slot standard Stash maximum in the Frozen Trail 2.0.0 notes. The same update summary mentions 100 furniture designs, but that is the total catalogue size, not the number of storage-capable designs.
The 24-slot Sturdy Shelf, 16-slot Diner Cupboard, 12-slot Chambers Shelf, 10-slot Cafeteria Table and weapon-rack values come from the ARC Raiders Wiki furniture catalogue and recent player reports dated October 2026. They are useful current figures, but they are not an official developer ranking. Embark has not published a complete table mapping every design to capacity, accepted items and placement limits.
For that reason, the most defensible answer is conditional: the Sturdy Shelf is the biggest reported general-item upgrade per piece, while the Polished Weapon Rack is the leading reported gun-specific upgrade. Your best overall setup depends on which categories you store and which Outpost positions and recipes your character has unlocked.
