No single GTA Online business earns the most money for every player. The answer depends on what “most” means: income that builds while you do other things, the best payoff for a solo player, or the highest money per hour of active play. For a solo player who wants a business that is practical to run alone, PC Gamer’s guide highlights the Acid Lab. For a player who already owns several linked businesses, the Nightclub becomes a strong passive layer. The Bunker is a passive production option, while active heists and contracts usually win on hourly rate, at the cost of more play time or a crew.
What “most money” actually measures
Four different comparisons get lumped together under this question, and each one points to a different business:

- Passive yield: goods or cash that accumulate while you play other content.
- Active hourly rate: money earned per hour of deliberate work, such as running missions or heists.
- Solo convenience: how easily one player can run and sell the output without a crew.
- Return on investment: how quickly a business repays its setup and upgrade costs.
“Per hour” needs one more check. For passive businesses it can mean real-time production while you are logged in, or a modeled hourly rate based on the effort you put in. Those figures are not interchangeable, and published rankings do not always say which one they use.
Acid Lab: the practical solo pick
The Acid Lab is the business most often recommended to solo players. PC Gamer’s guide, How to Make Money in GTA Online, notes that Acid Lab sell missions stay manageable alone regardless of how much product you are carrying. That makes it a background producer you can sell without organising other players. The guide is from 2022, so treat its prices and exact production rates as dated. The solo-friendly sell mechanic is the part to rely on.

Nightclub: a portfolio layer, not a first business
The Nightclub’s warehouse income depends on the other businesses you own and on the technicians assigned to them. Its value grows as you add supporting businesses, so it works best as a later addition to a setup you already run. PC Gamer’s 2022 guide cites up to $50,000 per hour in Nightclub safe income. That is a dated, guide-era figure. Confirm current numbers in your own game before using it as a payout expectation.
Bunker: passive gunrunning production
The Bunker is the other passive production option. It produces gunrunning goods while you do other activities, which is useful if you want steady output alongside active play. The main solo problem is delivery. Selling a full stock in one run can be hard to manage alone, so PC Gamer advises smaller sale volumes when you play solo. Sources reviewed do not give a current per-hour figure for the Bunker.

Active heists and contracts
If your goal is maximum money per hour of active play, heists and contract work are the stronger category. The Salvage Yard, Chop Shop and Agency contracts are active income activities rather than passive businesses. Heist and routine rates depend on setup, execution, cooldowns, crew size and the current target or event.
GrindMap’s July 2026 dataset estimates $1,400,000 net per hour for the Kortz Center Heist. That figure applies to the heist as a weekly one-shot, not to a recurring business rate. You can read the methodology at GTA Online Money Statistics (2026).

Reading the published estimates
None of the pages reviewed cite an official Rockstar statistic naming a top-earning business, and no attributable Rockstar statement on the question was found. The figures below come from third parties and should be read as estimates:
- $120,000 net per hour: GrindMap, 2026. This is the reported median across 23 tracked money methods in its July 2026 dataset. GrindMap says its figures are modeled from that dataset and have not been tested by players.
- $1,400,000 net per hour: GrindMap, 2026. A July 2026 estimate for the Kortz Center Heist as a weekly one-shot, not a recurring rate.
- Up to $50,000 per hour in Nightclub safe income: PC Gamer, 2022. A guide-era figure to verify in-game.
GTA Intel’s May 2026 ranking, Every GTA Online Business Tier Ranked by Hourly Profit (May 2026), assumes solo play, full upgrades and no active 2x event. A player with different upgrades, a crew or a boosted event will see different results.

Weekly bonuses can reorder the list
Rockstar’s weekly payout rotation can make a normally lower-ranked business the best short-term choice. Before committing to a long grind, check the in-game weekly event, because a temporary bonus can change which option pays best that week.
