Blue (Actuational) fits the Order of Ascendant, and yellow (Profitalist) fits Auntie’s Choice. Red (Sovereignist) is the Protectorate’s setting, and the Order and Auntie’s Choice are reported to be unhappy with it. The personality choice is a faction-alignment decision, not a main-quest branch: the guides reviewed below say it does not change quest progression.
The three settings and the factions they align with
| Setting | Color | Aligned faction | Priority described in the guides | When to pick it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Actuational | Blue | The Order of Ascendant | Helping humanity toward ascendance | The Order will receive the Archive |
| Profitalist | Yellow | Auntie’s Choice | Profit and bankrupting rivals | Auntie’s Choice will receive the Archive |
| Sovereignist | Red | The Protectorate | Not stated in the cited guides | Generally avoid it if the Order or Auntie’s Choice is receiving the Archive, since Game8 reports both are displeased by it |
The priorities and faction mappings come from Game8’s guide to the UENIAC personality choice (updated November 27, 2025), and the mapping is repeated in Game8’s list of choices and consequences, also updated November 27, 2025.
How to decide
If you have negotiated a recipient
If your alliance deal designates which faction will handle the Archive, match the personality to that faction. Game8 advises this because the aligned faction is reported to react well to the matching personality, while the other likely recipient reacts badly to a mismatch.
If no recipient has been designated
The guides do not offer a stronger tiebreaker than role-play. Pick the setting whose stated priority fits the way you want to play your character. Since the choice is not described as changing the main quest, you will not lock yourself out of later content by picking any one of the three.

What the choice changes, according to the guides
The guides describe two effects that are worth separating. The first is attitude: Game8 says an aligned faction is pleased by the matching personality and the other likely recipient is displeased by a mismatched one. The second is consequence: the same guide says the personality setting does not affect faction standing or the progression of later quests. TheGameSlayer and XboxAchievements also report that the selection does not determine the main quest or achievement outcome.
Those two claims sit in some tension, because a reaction that changes how a faction treats you is not obviously the same as a change in standing. Read the first as the reaction you should expect in dialogue and the second as the limit on what it affects mechanically. The guides do not spell out how the two relate, so if a specific reaction matters to your run, check the reaction yourself after the Archive is handed over.

Where the choice appears in the puzzle
The personality crisis comes near the end of the quest A Complication with the Computronic Cerebrum. TheGameSlayer’s walkthrough, dated October 28, 2025, describes the sequence as follows:
- Follow each colored wire to its switch.
- Keep three nodes of the desired color active.
- Remove, then replace, the console battery to restart the Archive in Safe Mode.
- To change the configuration later, restore power to nodes, as the same walkthrough describes.
The full walkthrough is in TheGameSlayer’s personality crisis guide. The step-by-step sequence above is reported from that guide, and this article has not verified it on-screen, so the wire and node layout may differ slightly from what you see.

Checking the information against the current game
All of the guidance here comes from guides published in October and November 2025, and this article has not tested the game itself. The guides’ descriptions of faction priorities and consequences are the best available, but a later patch could change how the choice is handled. If the faction reaction or puzzle layout does not match what is described, treat the guide as outdated and make your choice based on the faction whose outcome you care about most.
XboxAchievements’ printable achievement guide also reports that the selection does not determine achievement outcomes.
