Activision’s available Warzone material does not publish weapon XP amounts by contract, so it cannot confirm which contract gives the most. This answer is about Call of Duty: Warzone; contract objectives and rewards can change between seasons.
What is known about contract weapon XP?
Activision’s Warzone guide describes contracts such as Scavenger, Bounty, Intel Station Upload, and Big Game Bounty. It says contracts award cash when completed, but does not rank them by weapon XP. Recent season notes likewise describe contract changes and rewards without listing contract-by-contract weapon XP amounts.
That means there is no supported current answer such as “do this contract for the most weapon XP.” A contract may be a better choice for your squad because it is quick, safe, or useful to your route, but those advantages do not establish a larger weapon XP payout.
Is Top Secret still the best contract for weapon XP?
A years-old Pro Game Guides article reports that Top Secret contracts give 750 weapon XP and calls them the highest. Treat that as a historical secondary-source claim, not a current verified amount: the official material reviewed does not confirm either the 750 figure or the ranking.

Contract types and objectives have changed over time. Activision’s Season 01 Reloaded notes describe changes to Recon, Bounty, and Most Wanted; its Season 02 notes describe Redacted contracts that can reveal Bounty, Scavenger, or Recon objectives; and its Season 03 notes cover Supply Run availability and routing. The Season 04 notes introduce Shadowlink, a Fortune’s Keep-only Recon variant whose documented reward is remote access to a Black Market Buy Station. None of those notes provides a weapon XP comparison.
How should you choose a contract while leveling a weapon?
Until a current-season XP ranking is established, choose based on how reliably your squad can complete objectives and keep moving, rather than assuming one contract pays more weapon XP.

- Consider completion time and route. Supply Run targets are selected according to circle size and distance scales to the circle, so check whether the Buy Station route is practical for your squad.
- Account for exposure. Bounty requires tracking and eliminating an enemy player or squad, while Recon requires holding an upload area. Activision’s historical contract guide notes that some contracts can draw players into firefights.
- Weigh squad utility. Recon can provide information about a later safe zone. A useful objective may be worth doing even when its weapon XP payout is not known to be higher.
- Use contract bonus details cautiously. Activision’s July 2020 guide said that after five completed contracts, a Contract Bonus level of 6 gave the next contract a high chance of greater cash and XP and a greater chance of Epic or Legendary loot. That is historical guidance, not confirmation of the current formula, and it does not identify a best contract for weapon XP.
Can Double Weapon XP help?
Activision’s Black Ops 7 progression support page says weapons level in multiple modes, including Warzone, and that Double Weapon XP tokens shorten weapon progression. Use an available token while progressing a weapon if you want to accelerate leveling, but the page does not say which contract yields the most weapon XP or specify a contract-specific token multiplier.

For a current answer, look for an official update or current in-game evidence that gives weapon XP by contract type. Without that, treat exact figures and rankings from older guides as unconfirmed rather than carrying them forward to a newer season.
