The protagonists of Little Nightmares III are Low and Alone, two friends trying to escape the Spiral. Low is the boy in the blue cape and mask who carries a bow; Alone is the girl in the green jumpsuit and pigtails who carries a wrench. Both are playable, either with a second player online or with the other character controlled by AI in single-player.
Who are Low and Alone?
Bandai Namco describes Low and Alone as the original protagonists of Little Nightmares III and as best friends who found each other in a lonely nightmare. They journey through the Spiral, a cluster of disturbing places within the Nowhere, searching for a way out. The publisher’s synopsis names locations including the Necropolis, a Candy Factory and a funfair.

Low: the boy with the bow
Low is an imaginative boy wearing a blue cape and a mask. He carries a bow and arrows, which the publisher says can reach high targets, cut ropes and take down flying enemies. The official game page describes him as having an archer’s eye and believing he knows a way out of the Nowhere.
Alone: the girl with the wrench
Alone is a bold, mechanically minded girl with pigtails and a green jumpsuit. She carries a wrench that can break barriers, work the mechanisms of large machines and crush enemies after they have been stunned. The publisher identifies her as Low’s best friend.

Bandai Namco calls Low and Alone the protagonists of Little Nightmares III. That identifies their role in this game, but the cited publisher material does not explain every connection between them and the wider franchise. Their story here is centered on surviving the Spiral together and seeking an escape.
