Sliggoo evolves into Goodra when it levels up in rainy weather at level 50 or higher in the mainline Pokémon games. Goomy evolves into Sliggoo at level 40; that earlier evolution does not require rain.
Which Pokémon evolves in the rain?
It is Sliggoo: level it up while the game recognizes rainy weather, and it evolves into Goodra once it is at least level 50. This is the mainline-game answer; Pokémon GO uses different evolution mechanics.
How the mainline evolution works
- Level Goomy to level 40 to evolve it into Sliggoo. Rain is not required for this step, according to SplicedOnline’s November 19, 2024 guide.
- Once Sliggoo is level 50 or higher, level it up while rainy weather is active in the overworld. It should evolve into Goodra.
If Sliggoo does not evolve, check that it has reached level 50 and that the game recognizes rain when it levels up. The cited guide supports these conditions but does not establish further weather exceptions.
Does the rain requirement work the same in Pokémon GO?
No: Pokémon GO has separate mechanics, and the level-50 requirement does not apply. Search-result accounts describe evolving Sliggoo with 100 Goomy Candy during in-game rain or while a Rainy Lure Module is active, but that detail is not confirmed by the official support page cited here. Check the current evolve prompt in the app for the requirement available to your account. Pokémon Support identifies Niantic as the developer and directs players to its help center; Pokémon GO is an iOS and Android app, as described on Pokémon Support.

Is Pokémon UNITE’s Goodra progression the same evolution?
No. In Pokémon UNITE, Goomy, Sliggoo, and Goodra appear as stages of one playable character’s progression at levels 1, 5, and 8, respectively. Goodra also has a rain-themed move, but that is a battle ability, not the mainline rain-triggered evolution condition. See the official Goodra page.
