Amy Rose is the character who has a crush on Sonic in SEGA’s official game-franchise material. SEGA says Amy fell in love with him at first sight and pursues him, but its descriptions do not establish that they are a mutually confirmed couple.
Who has a crush on Sonic?
Amy Rose. SEGA’s Sonic Channel describes her as a girl with feelings for Sonic and says she fell in love at first sight after he rescued her. Amy then began pursuing him, according to SEGA’s Sonic & Amy character story, published February 22, 2021.
SEGA’s English Sonic Advance character page calls Amy the “self-proclaimed ‘Sonic’s girlfriend.’” The wording matters: it describes Amy’s claim, not confirmation that Sonic shares her feelings or that the two are a settled couple.
When did Amy meet Sonic?
Amy made her game debut in Sonic CD, where she first meets Sonic. SEGA’s Sonic Origins overview identifies Amy as a debuting character in Sonic CD and gives the game’s Japanese release date as September 23, 1993.

Does Cream the Rabbit also have a crush on Sonic?
SEGA presents Cream’s regard for Sonic differently. In its Sonic & Cream character story, published April 20, 2021, Cream looks up to Sonic as a dependable, older-brother-like adventurer. That is admiration and trust, not a romantic crush in SEGA’s description.
What the official descriptions establish
- Amy: SEGA says she fell for Sonic at first sight and pursues him.
- Sonic and Amy: The official descriptions leave Sonic’s response unresolved; Amy calling herself his girlfriend does not make the relationship mutually confirmed.
- Cream: Her admiration is framed as younger-sibling-like regard, not romance.
These answers reflect SEGA’s official game-franchise material. They do not establish what every Sonic comic, animation, or other licensed continuity says.
