Roblox reported 123 million average daily active users (DAUs) globally for Q2 2026. The Fortnite audience figure Epic Games has published that can be checked is 18.6 million average monthly active recipients in the European Union, not a global total. Different metric, different period, different geography: that gap is the whole answer.
What each company has published
Only two platform-level audience disclosures from these companies are relevant here. Roblox Corporation reports daily-active figures for its platform. Epic Games publishes a regional monthly figure for Fortnite. Everything else that circulates online, such as Epic’s store numbers or creator-island activity, measures something else.
Roblox: 123 million average daily users
In its Q2 2026 results, Roblox Corporation reported 123 million average DAUs globally, up 10% year over year. The same quarter, the company reported 29 billion hours engaged. Because DAU is an average of people active on a typical day across the period, it measures recurring daily activity rather than the total number of people who have ever played.
Fortnite: 18.6 million monthly recipients in the EU
Epic Games’ disclosure puts Fortnite at an average of 18.6 million monthly active recipients in the European Union, averaged over the preceding six months. The disclosure was updated August 15, 2025, so it is roughly a year older than Roblox’s figure. It covers the EU only. It is not a worldwide Fortnite number, and it is not a daily measure.

Fortnite creator islands: engagement, not total users
Epic’s 2024 creator-island report states that average daily players engaging with creator islands rose 15% during 2024, and that more than 70% of Fortnite players played both Epic-made and creator-made games that year. These are engagement measures inside Fortnite. They say how people use the game, not how many people use it.
Why the two figures cannot be ranked head to head
Three things differ between the Roblox and Fortnite numbers, and each one alone is enough to block a direct comparison:

- Measurement period: Roblox reports a daily average for a quarter; Epic’s Fortnite figure is a monthly average over six months.
- Geography: Roblox’s figure is global; Epic’s Fortnite figure covers the EU only.
- Entity counted: Roblox counts its platform; the Fortnite figure counts one game.
Epic’s disclosure also counts a user once for each Epic service or product they access in a month. A single person using two Epic products can therefore appear in two counts, so product-level figures are not a tally of unique people across Epic.

Figures that look comparable but are not
Epic Games Store user counts
The 78 million monthly active users Epic reported for the Epic Games Store in December 2025 measure a PC storefront. Fortnite is one of many titles that can be bought there, and the store count does not tell you how many people play Fortnite. Using it as a Fortnite audience figure overstates the game’s reach and mixes a store metric with a game metric.

Creator-island player counts
The creator-island growth figure describes activity within Fortnite’s user-made experiences. It is a useful signal of engagement, but it is a subset of players, measured on a daily basis, and it cannot be added to or subtracted from the monthly EU recipients figure.
How to answer the question accurately
- If you want the largest published daily audience, use Roblox’s 123 million average DAUs for Q2 2026. This is the strongest publicly reported user-scale figure from either company.
- If you want Fortnite’s reported audience, use the 18.6 million average monthly EU recipients, and state that it covers the EU and a six-month average ending with the August 15, 2025 update.
- If you want a worldwide Fortnite user count, you will not find one in Epic’s disclosures reviewed for this article. Do not infer one from the EU figure.
- If someone claims Fortnite has fewer users than Roblox, ask which metric and geography they are comparing. Mismatched periods and regions cannot establish that conclusion.
What remains unestablished
- A current global Fortnite user count on a basis comparable to Roblox’s average DAUs.
- A unique-person total across all Epic products.
- A regional breakdown of Roblox’s 123 million DAUs that would allow an EU-to-EU comparison.
Until Epic publishes a global figure on a comparable basis, the defensible answer is that Roblox has the stronger publicly reported audience number, and that no like-for-like ranking of the two games is possible from the published figures.
