The Bloodline is the strongest subject for a Showcase built around WWE’s family dynasties. Roman Reigns can serve as the organizing point of view, but keeping the extended family central gives the story more scope: it can connect wrestlers and eras instead of narrowing the lens to one performer.

2K describes the Showcase as celebrating The Bloodline and the extended Anoa’i, Fatu, and Maivia families. The game manual names Roman Reigns, The Rock, Yokozuna, and Jacob Fatu among its featured figures; that list is not presented as exhaustive.

Roman Reigns welcomed the family focus in a promotional announcement, saying he was “personally and professionally excited” that the Original and Only Tribal Chief and the extended Anoa’i family were the focus. That statement reflects Reigns’s view, rather than proving that this choice is objectively better than another possible subject.
What does the mode include?
The manual describes a mix of historical matches, selected alternate outcomes, and dream matches between Bloodline members and WWE Superstars and Legends. The mix gives the Showcase room to revisit parts of the family’s WWE history while also presenting imagined matchups; it should not be confused with a complete record of every family member’s career.

The game’s announced roster was more than 300 playable characters, according to 2K’s 2025 announcement. That figure applies to the overall game roster, not to the Showcase cast or the number of Showcase matches.
Why a dynasty story works better than a Roman-only retrospective
A Roman-focused retrospective would offer a clear central character, but the family framing can link multiple generations and a wider range of wrestlers. That breadth is the strongest reason to make The Bloodline the subject while using Reigns as the narrative anchor. It also makes room for figures such as The Rock, Yokozuna, and Jacob Fatu without implying they all have the same role in the story.

Other subjects could make compelling Showcase concepts, but there is no evidence here that ranks them against The Bloodline. A fair comparison would consider narrative breadth, the depth of documented historical matches, how recognizable the subject is to readers, and how many wrestlers it can meaningfully include—not assume that one concept has been proven to be fans’ preferred choice.
