EA’s official tight-end ratings page independently lists Kelce at 99 overall. That confirms his rating, not the full five-player list. The same position-specific page lists George Kittle at 98; those are launch-era values, not necessarily ratings after later roster updates.
Who was revealed first?
Tyreek Hill was the first 99 Club player revealed. The position-ratings rollout began with wide receivers on July 29, 2024, according to Destructoid’s contemporaneous ratings-week report, which also reported Hill at 99 overall and 99 speed. A tracker published the five-player list during the rollout from July 29 into early August.

What does a 99 overall rating mean?
The 99 Club is Madden NFL 25’s top overall-rating designation. It is a rating within the game, not an official NFL award or proof that a player is objectively the best at his position. Overall ratings summarize how the game models players; they should not be treated as a direct measure of real-world ability.
What was the game’s release context?
EA announced on June 11, 2024, that Madden NFL 25 would launch worldwide on August 16, 2024, and named McCaffrey as its cover athlete. In that announcement, EA said McCaffrey had recorded 339 touches, 2,023 scrimmage yards and 21 total touchdowns in the preceding season, and tied a league record with a touchdown in 17 consecutive games. Those are EA’s cover-announcement statistics about his prior season, not Madden ratings or in-game statistics.

EA quoted Mike Mahar, Senior Production Director, Madden NFL, explaining the cover selection: “Christian McCaffrey is a human highlight reel on NFL Sundays and our players love his dynamic abilities in Madden NFL.” Mahar was discussing McCaffrey as the cover athlete and his appeal in Madden gameplay, not explaining the 99 Club selection.
