Yarnaby is a lion toy and Experiment 1166 in Poppy Playtime. MOB Entertainment’s official profile says Doctor Sawyer manipulated Yarnaby’s emotional capacity and isolated him, shaping a loyalty that centered on the Doctor. In Poppy Playtime: Chapter 4 – Safe Haven, the publisher describes him as the Doctor’s personal hunter within the Shelf.
Who is Yarnaby?
MOB Entertainment presents Yarnaby first as a toy lion: “A lion with a heart of gold and a smile that touches your soul!” The profile says the toy was originally released as part of a wildlife conservation campaign in the 1970s, with regular releases in later years. That is the character’s in-universe toy backstory, not a real-world conservation claim.

Behind the toy persona is Experiment 1166, described by MOB as one of the earliest successes of the Bigger Bodies Initiative. The publisher says Doctor Sawyer manipulated Yarnaby’s emotional capacity and isolated him. In MOB’s account, those actions made Yarnaby’s loyalty center on the Doctor. These details come from the official character profile; they should not be confused with fan theories or interpretations of individual game scenes.

What is Yarnaby’s role in Chapter 4?
Yarnaby appears in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 4 – Safe Haven. MOB’s profile summarizes his role in the years after the Hour of Joy: “Yarnaby has become the Doctor’s personal hunter within the Shelf.” That is the publisher’s description of the character’s role, rather than an independently verified account of events.

Is there an official Yarnaby plush?
MOB Entertainment’s official store has identified a “Yarnaby Deluxe 18" Posable Plush.” However, the product link currently redirects to the Yarnaby collection page, which displays apparel rather than the plush. That does not confirm the plush’s current stock, price, or product details. Check the official plush listing for current information before buying.
The official Yarnaby collection also displays four apparel designs: Yarnaby Grunge Tee, Shaved Yarnaby Shirt, Doctor & Yarnaby Comic Book Tee, and Yarnball Tee. For marketplace searches such as “Yarnaby plush,” verify the seller, licensing, item dimensions, and live availability; the official store listing alone does not establish that Amazon currently carries an authentic product.
