Javier Salazar in Call of Duty: Black Ops II is played by Celestin Cornielle. The game’s official manual lists his name beside the character’s in the single-player campaign cast, and Cornielle has said in a 2012 interview that he performed the role through both performance capture and voice-over.
Who is Javier Salazar?
Javier Salazar is a character in the single-player campaign of Call of Duty: Black Ops II. He is not a multiplayer or Zombies figure, so the casting credit applies only to the campaign story.

Who is credited as the performer?
The game manual’s cast list pairs “Javier Salazar” with “Celestin Cornielle.” The manual is Activision’s official printed credit for the game, so it is the reference to use for both the performer’s name and its spelling.
Some secondary credit databases spell the name “Celestino.” If you see that version, it refers to the same performer. The manual’s spelling, “Celestin,” is the one to cite.

What did the role involve?
In a 2012 interview, Cornielle says he brought Javier Salazar to life and that it was his first video-game role. He describes two parts of the work: performance capture, meaning the movement and facial acting recorded for the character’s animation, and voice-over.
He also contrasted the two. In his words: “I have done some VO with this game, but it’s totally different.” The interview focuses on how performance capture differs from conventional voice recording, so the role was not only a voice performance.
