Roblox Support says it is hard to determine who played first because some early accounts are still active. The company describes its earliest builders as a mix of developers, investors, testers, and founders’ friends—not a single known first user.
Who was the first player on Roblox?
There is no confirmed name. Roblox Support’s Roblox Company Information page says: “It’s hard to say who the first player of Roblox was since some of those early accounts are still active.” That is the clearest official answer: Roblox has not established a definitive first player.
How did Roblox begin?
Roblox says it was founded in 2004 by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel. The company describes its first couple hundred builders as developers, investors, testers, and friends of the founders. That account points to an early group of people contributing in different ways, rather than one publicly identified first player.
Was Admin the first Roblox user?
That is not established. A community-maintained Roblox Wiki history of Admin discusses the account’s early forum status, but an early forum-account position does not prove that its owner was the first person to play Roblox. Account chronology and first gameplay are different claims, and the available information does not settle the latter.

Why can’t Roblox name the first player?
Roblox’s explanation is that some of the earliest accounts remain active, making it difficult to determine who played first. The company’s public account describes the early builder community broadly; it does not name a first player or give a definitive ordering of those early users.
