First check whether the challenge is eligible
Before assuming progress is broken, open the challenge and check its displayed rank requirement and any red eligibility message. EA Help notes that some challenges require a particular player rank, so an unmet requirement can prevent progress without indicating a tracking defect. EA Help’s Battlefield 6 troubleshooting page also advises checking EA Forums for reports of challenges that do not work or track.
If you have reached the required rank and the specified action still does not increment progress, record the details before comparing your issue with an official notice:
- The exact challenge name.
- Your platform and game mode.
- The action you completed and what progress, if any, appeared.
- Whether the issue is challenge progress or completion of a related reward path.
Challenge tracking problems are not all the same
EA’s launch-era known-issues material documented several distinct problems, while later notices addressed particular cases rather than one universal defect. A challenge that fails to count an action, a rank-locked challenge, and a reward path that does not complete may look similar on screen but require different fixes. EA’s known-issues material is useful for matching a report to the named challenge and behavior; do not assume that a fix for one challenge applies to another.

Support Specialist 2: one tracking issue fixed
A specific Support Specialist 2 problem involved damage from the lingering fire cloud created by the Incendiary Airburst Launcher. EA fixed that issue in Update 1.1.3.0. This is a confirmed fix for that reported behavior, not evidence that every challenge-tracking complaint has been resolved. Read the Update 1.1.3.0 notes.
Explosive Charge Bonus Path and PP-19: investigation reported
In June 2026, Battlefield Studios said players might complete all currently available challenges without completing the Explosive Charge Bonus Path or unlocking the PP-19 SMG. The studio said the issue was actively being investigated and that it would share more when it had an update; it did not provide an ETA. See Battlefield Studios’ status communication.

When will Battlefield 6 challenge tracking be fixed?
There is no substantiated general fix date. EA’s September 16, 2026 status roundup lists current investigations and fixes but does not announce a universal challenge-tracking fix or its timing. The September 15 known-issues announcement also does not list challenge tracking, and the September 28 update summary describes targeted quality-of-life fixes without establishing a general tracking fix. The absence of a general notice does not establish that every individual challenge is working; it means the available official status information does not support a broader ETA. What to do if your challenge still will not track
- Check the challenge screen. Confirm the required rank and look for a red eligibility message. If you have not met the requirement, the challenge may be locked rather than bugged.
- Look for the exact issue on EA Forums. Search by challenge name and symptom, not just a general phrase like “challenges not tracking.” EA Help says that if a reported issue is listed, its team is aware and looking into it. If it is not listed, EA directs players to report it on the forums. EA Help’s challenge guidance.
- Include useful details in a report. Name the challenge, platform, mode, required action, and what happened when you completed it. This helps distinguish a challenge-progress problem from a reward-path completion issue.
- Use general troubleshooting only as a diagnostic step. EA’s general advice for other or unknown errors includes restarting, checking for game updates or corrupted files, and repairing the game on PC. Its challenge guidance does not say these steps resolve every progress defect, so do not treat them as a guaranteed fix.
