Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallBlizzard’s country/region setting is meant to reflect where you physically live, not to move a game account, characters, or progress to another region. For a residence change, try Blizzard’s country-change self-service. If it is unavailable, request a Support review with a legible recent utility bill or related document showing your name and new address. A low Battle.net Balance and special restrictions for Korea and Mainland China can also block the change.
First, identify which region you want to change
“Region” can mean the country of residence on your Battle.net account, or a region, server, or license within a particular game. Blizzard’s country-change guidance concerns the country where you physically reside. Changing that account detail is not a general way to move a game or its data between regions.

If you only want to play on a different game server, check that game’s own region and server options rather than changing your residence country. If you want a game license for a different region, the answer depends on the game. In a September 29, 2026 forum response, Blizzard described World of Warcraft as requiring a separate regional license in some cases; it also said characters, achievements, progress, and most purchases do not transfer. Treat that as game-specific guidance, not a rule that guarantees the same result for every Blizzard game. Read the forum response and check the support information for the game concerned.
How to change the country on your Battle.net account
- Sign in and open Blizzard’s country-change self-service. Follow the prompts to request a change to your country of residence. The self-service is Blizzard’s first route for this request. Open the official instructions.
- If self-service does not work, submit a Blizzard Support request. Blizzard says to provide a legible recent utility bill or related document showing your name and new address. Its article does not guarantee that a particular alternative document will be accepted.
- Check your Battle.net Balance before submitting. Blizzard says the balance must be below the minimum required for eligibility. The article does not state a numeric threshold, so check the current instructions rather than relying on a guessed amount.
- Review the possible balance effect. Blizzard says the balance may reset to zero after the country change and that Support cannot convert it between currencies.
Why the change may be blocked
Your balance does not meet the eligibility condition
Blizzard conditions eligibility on having a Battle.net Balance below its required minimum. If your balance is too high, the self-service may not let you proceed. Check Blizzard’s current country-change instructions for the applicable requirement; the published guidance linked above does not give a numeric threshold.

Your account falls under a Korea or Mainland China restriction
Blizzard says accounts created outside Korea cannot change their country to Korea. Accounts created outside Mainland China cannot be changed to Mainland China; Blizzard directs residents to create a local account or contact local support to recover an existing account. These are specific country restrictions, not a general explanation for every failed request. Check Blizzard’s current country-specific instructions.
You are trying to move a game account or its data
A change to your residence country does not transfer game accounts or game data between regions. Blizzard’s country-change article says those transfers are not available through this process. If the issue is a regional game license, characters, achievements, progress, or purchases, consult that game’s support guidance; the World of Warcraft forum response specifically warns that those items and most purchases do not transfer in the situation it describes. See that game-specific response.

You selected the wrong workflow for what you want to do
Blizzard’s country-change process is for a move or an incorrect country selection on an account, not simply for choosing a different place to play. If you have not moved and only want access to another game region or server, changing your Battle.net country may not address the issue. Identify the game and the exact setting first.
What to do if you still cannot change it
- Confirm whether the request is to correct your Battle.net residence country or to change a specific game’s region, server, or license.
- For a residence-country change, try the official self-service and check its balance eligibility condition.
- If self-service is unavailable, contact Blizzard Support with the requested residence documentation.
- If your requested destination is Korea or Mainland China, follow the specific route Blizzard lists for that country.
- For a game-region or data-transfer issue, contact support for that game and do not assume that account country, progress, or purchases will move together.
Does Battle.net country affect currency?
Blizzard has previously connected account country with local currency in a notice about Canada, Japan, and New Zealand. That notice is historical context, not a current eligibility rule or a promise that changing country will convert an existing balance. Blizzard’s current country-change guidance says Support cannot convert Battle.net Balance between currencies. Read Blizzard’s local-currency notice.
