GTA Online profile migration only works on specific platform routes: from PS4 or Xbox One to PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, or from GTAV Legacy to GTAV Enhanced on PC. If your route is supported but migration still fails, Rockstar lists account suspension or a ban, and illegitimate or insufficient progress, as possible eligibility reasons. The steps below help identify which applies.
Check whether your platform route is supported
Being signed into the same Rockstar account on both devices does not make every transfer possible. Rockstar supports these routes:

| Xbox One | Xbox Series X|S | Yes |

Rockstar does not support migration between PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, or from a PlayStation or Xbox console family to PC. See Rockstar’s platform transfer rules. The PC option is specifically a move from GTAV Legacy to GTAV Enhanced, not a console-to-PC transfer; details are in Rockstar’s PC migration guide.
Check whether the profile is eligible
Even on a supported route, Rockstar says a profile may be ineligible if the account has been suspended or banned, or if the profile has illegitimate or insufficient progress. The public rules identify these categories but do not tell you why a particular profile was rejected. If the game reports that your profile is ineligible, you may need Rockstar Support to clarify the account-specific reason.

Start migration in the destination version
- Launch the destination game version and sign in to the Rockstar Games account associated with the profile you want to move.
- On console, open Migrate Profile from the GTA Online Landing Page. Alternatively, use Pause Menu → Online → Migrate Profile.
- For GTAV Enhanced on PC, use Migrate Profile on the Landing Page or in the Pause Menu. If you have already played Enhanced, start the migration from the Pause Menu.
If the option is missing or an error appears, verify the source and destination platform or PC edition, and check that you launched the intended destination version and signed into the intended Rockstar account. Rockstar’s console steps and eligibility details are in its PS4/Xbox One migration guide.
Know what migration does—and does not—carry forward
Migration is a one-time move of profile progress, not ongoing synchronization between versions. On console, the source profile remains, but progress made on the different console generations will not sync. On PC, progress in GTAV Legacy and GTAV Enhanced will not sync after migration.

- Experience the world of Grand Theft Auto V like never before with the power of the PlayStation 4.
- Explore the City of Los Santos, the countryside and even the ocean.
- Play through an epic single player experience using three very different characters.
- Join your friends in GTA Online and see what trouble you can cause.
- Play golf, tennis, see a film or call someone and just hang out.
There is also a currency restriction for cross-family console moves: unspent purchased GTA$ do not transfer between PlayStation and Xbox platform families, such as PS4 to Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One to PS5. Check Rockstar’s console migration guidance before confirming a move.

If your route is supported and the eligibility categories do not explain the rejection, save the exact on-screen message and contact Rockstar Support. Include the source and destination platforms or editions and the Rockstar account you used. The public migration rules cannot determine whether a specific profile has been flagged or whether an error is temporary; support is the account-specific next step, not a guarantee that an eligibility decision will be reversed.
