If Ubisoft Connect on PC is not showing game invitations, first restart the client or install its latest version manually. Ubisoft lists this as the recommended fix for missing game invitations and chat messages. If the problem continues, identify whether you are missing a friend request, a game invite, or a PC overlay notification; each points to a different check.
Update Ubisoft Connect PC first
Ubisoft says some Ubisoft Connect PC users may be unable to send or receive game invitations or chat messages. Its recommended first step is to restart the client so it can start automatic updates, or install the latest version manually. See Ubisoft Help’s missing chat messages and game invitations article.
- Close Ubisoft Connect PC, then reopen it and allow it to check for automatic updates.
- If the issue remains, install the latest client version manually.
- Try receiving or sending the invitation again.
Ubisoft presents this as a remedy for the PC client issue, not a guaranteed fix for every game, console, or platform-specific invitation problem.
Check whether it is a friend request or a game invite
A friend request and an invitation to join a game session are separate. Ubisoft says a player appears in your Ubisoft Connect PC friends list after accepting your friend invitation. If you are expecting to see someone in that list, check whether they accepted the request and whether you are looking in the friends list. For game-session invitations, check the relevant in-game or platform invite interface as well; a friend request does not itself put you into a session. Ubisoft’s friend-invitation guidance

If the missing invite is an overlay notification
These checks apply to Ubisoft Connect PC’s overlay, rather than to every game’s invite system. Ubisoft recommends using the latest client version and notes that the PC client launches in Offline mode when there is no internet connection; it will not automatically install updates in that mode. - Confirm the client is online and up to date.
- Check whether another background application or security tool is interfering with the overlay.
- If the overlay itself is not working, follow Ubisoft’s overlay troubleshooting steps rather than assuming the invite was never sent.
Check Ubisoft service status
If Ubisoft Connect cannot reach Ubisoft Services, an invitation problem may be related to service connectivity. Ubisoft directs users to its Help home page to check for an ongoing degradation or outage. Status can change, so check there when the problem occurs rather than relying on an old report. For cross-platform invites, verify the linked account
If you are trying to play across platforms, confirm that the platform account is linked to the Ubisoft account you are using. Ubisoft says linking a platform account enables available crossplay and cross-progression. If linking fails, the platform account may already be linked to a different Ubisoft account. Ubisoft’s missing-invitations guidance cited here is specifically for Ubisoft Connect PC. The steps may not match an invitation issue on a console, in a particular game, or through another launcher.
