Event raids can expire, local raids can be gated by story progress, and online listings can fill before you join. The right fix depends on which one you saw.
Start by identifying what disappeared
A map crystal and an online matchmaking post are different things. On the map, you can view available crystals and interact with one to open its raid menu. Online, you browse raid postings separately and can refresh that list with X. If you were looking for a particular event Pokémon, check the event dates as well as the map.

If a limited-time event raid disappeared
Event raids are available only during their announced window. Check the dates in the official event notice for the raid you wanted; an event that has ended will no longer be available as a current event raid. For example, The Pokémon Company listed a Dragonite event running from September 25, 2026, at 00:00 UTC through October 1, 2026, at 23:59 UTC. It had ended by October 8, 2026.
Limited-time raids also require the latest Poké Portal News. In the game, open the menu and receive the latest news, then check the event notice and look for the raid again. Nintendo and Pokémon both identify current Poké Portal News as necessary for event raids.

If a local crystal is missing from the map
Check your story progress
Tera Raid Battles unlock after you leave Mesagoza to begin the Treasure Hunt. Higher-level raids have further progression requirements: Pokémon says 5-star raids become available after completing the main story, while certain black-crystal raids require specified postgame events. Players who have not met some of these requirements may still be able to join the relevant event raids through multiplayer.
Update the game
Nintendo’s version 1.2.0 update notes, released February 27, 2023, document a bug that could temporarily make Tera Raid crystals stop appearing under certain circumstances. Nintendo says it was fixed in that update. Make sure your game is updated, but do not assume this old, fixed bug explains every present-day disappearance.

If an online raid listing disappeared
Another trainer may have joined the raid before you did, making it unavailable. Press X to refresh the postings and try another raid if the one you selected no longer works. Nintendo also notes that while you are in a Union Circle, the postings shown are limited to raids hosted by members of your group. For online play, check that the game is in Online Mode and that you are browsing the intended listings.

Upon purchase of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, an email with your code will be sent to the email address registered to your Nintendo Account. From the in-game menu, go to the Poké Portal, then select Mystery Gift, select Get with Code/Password, and then enter your code.
- The Mystery Gift option can be found within the Poké Portal menu option in the X menu after you unlock the feature in the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. (This occurs after about 1 to 1.5 hours of gameplay, though individual gameplay time may vary.) An internet connection and a Nintendo Account is required to redeem the item in game. A Nintendo Switch Online membership is not required. Each item can only be redeemed once.

Nintendo and Pokémon’s cited support guidance does not establish an ordinary local-crystal reset schedule or confirm changing the Switch clock as a fix. A missing crystal alone is not evidence that the game resets raids at midnight, and clock manipulation is not an established troubleshooting step.
