That wording explains why Modrinth looked like the home of Sodium. It was the prominent instruction at that time. It does not, on its own, show that distribution became exclusive to Modrinth, and the current README still lists CurseForge alongside it.
Modrinth the platform and the Modrinth App are different things
Readers often merge two separate items under one name. The Modrinth platform is the website where mods are published and discovered. The Modrinth App is a launcher used to install and manage Minecraft and its mods. The Sodium guide refers to the App as its recommended launcher for new players, so a recommendation for the App is not the same as a rule that Sodium lives only on the platform.
