The source said Disney’s concerns included Roblox’s safety for children, alongside Disney’s financial ties to Epic Games. That is a reported explanation—not a public statement from Disney or evidence of a permanent refusal.
What was Disney’s reported position on Roblox?
According to a December 2025 Yahoo News Malaysia syndication of Variety’s reporting, Disney had no formal presence on Roblox and no official Roblox games or intellectual-property licensing partnership at that time. The report also noted that Disney had previously run campaigns on the platform. Dexerto’s December 17, 2025 account likewise described the distinction between earlier campaigns and an official partnership.
A campaign is not the same thing as a licensed Roblox experience or a broader games-and-IP agreement. The reporting therefore does not mean Disney had never appeared on Roblox; it describes the absence of a formal partnership at the time.
Why did the report say Disney was reluctant?
The Variety account attributed the explanation to an unnamed source: Disney did not think Roblox was safe at that time. The report also mentioned Disney’s financial ties to Epic Games, but the source’s explanation was not simply that Disney was avoiding Roblox because of Epic. No on-record Disney statement confirming the rationale was located in the sources available here.

That attribution matters. The safety concern is a source’s account of Disney’s thinking, not a public Disney policy, an official announcement, or proof that Disney rejected Roblox permanently. The December 2025 reporting establishes a position as described then; it does not establish whether the companies’ relationship has changed since.
Does Roblox say it is safe for children?
Roblox describes moderation, parental controls, and age-check systems in its 2025 annual filing. The same filing discloses that users may evade systems and that age-check methods can misclassify users. These are Roblox’s own descriptions and disclosures, not an independent assessment of how well the controls work or a verdict that the platform is safe or unsafe. See Roblox’s 2025 Form 10-K.

What the report does not establish
- It does not show that Disney issued a public rejection of Roblox or adopted a permanent policy against working with it.
- It does not establish that Roblox’s safeguards are effective—or ineffective—independently of the company’s own account.
- It does not connect a particular law or regulatory proceeding to Disney’s reported position. Roblox’s interim filing describes evolving rules around online safety, content moderation, privacy, and protection of minors; that is industry context, not evidence of Disney’s reasoning. See Roblox’s 2026 Form 10-Q.
- It does not confirm that the reported status remains unchanged after December 2025. Any claim about the companies’ present-day relationship needs confirmation from a newer announcement or report.
