In a June 2024 statement, Beahm described the conversations as casual and mutual but acknowledged that they sometimes became inappropriate. He denied criminal conduct, pictures, or plans to meet, and said he accepted moral responsibility. His statement is Beahm’s account; Twitch has not publicly confirmed those details in the cited reporting.
What Dr Disrespect said happened
The messages were from 2017
Beahm acknowledged that he had Twitch Whisper conversations with an individual who was a minor in 2017. His wording was direct: “Were there twitch whisper messages with an individual minor back in 2017? The answer is yes.”
He characterized the exchanges as “casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate, but nothing more.” That description is an admission that the messages existed and that he considered their tone unacceptable in retrospect, not an independently adjudicated finding about the content of every message.
What he denied and what he accepted
Beahm said there were no real-world intentions, no pictures, no meeting, and no illegal conduct. He also said no criminal charges were brought against him. Separately, he wrote: “Now, from a moral standpoint, I’ll absolutely take responsibility.”

| Former Twitch employees | Public allegations discussed in June 2024 | Why the issue resurfaced and the allegations surrounding the ban; their comments are not the same as a court judgment. |
| Twitch | Platform action | The 2020 ban, but not a publicly documented contemporaneous explanation in the cited coverage. |
