EA removed a player-created household from The Sims 4 Gallery after Kotaku reported that it combined a Sim resembling Jeffrey Epstein with seven child Sims wearing towels. An EA spokesperson told Kotaku on March 2, 2026, that the content was “wholly unacceptable” and that the team had removed it. This was a user upload shared through the online Gallery—not an official EA image or built-in game asset.
What was uploaded to The Sims 4 Gallery?
Kotaku reported that a household titled “NPC Children Townies” contained a figure resembling Jeffrey Epstein alongside seven child Sims wearing towels. The Gallery is where players can share creations, so the reported item was content made and uploaded by a player. It was not evidence that EA had added the imagery to the game itself. Sims Community also covered the upload and warned readers about its disturbing content; this article does not reproduce the imagery.

Kotaku also reported on a separate Gallery household titled “Epstein,” depicting Epstein with Ghislaine Maxwell. That older upload was reported to have been posted in 2023. It was distinct from “NPC Children Townies,” and the two should not be treated as a single item.
Why did EA remove the Epstein family from The Sims 4 Gallery?
After Kotaku contacted EA about “NPC Children Townies,” an EA spokesperson said on March 2, 2026: “wholly unacceptable, and our team has removed it.” The response confirms the removal of that specific household after it was brought to EA’s attention; it does not establish that EA had removed every Epstein-themed creation from the Gallery.

The spokesperson also described EA’s possible enforcement actions for content that violates its User Agreement and Positive Play Charter, including removing content and restricting a player’s access to some or all EA Services. EA encouraged players to report similar Gallery content using the item’s “Flag This” control.
What else was available when Kotaku checked?
Kotaku reported that at 4:20 p.m. EST on March 2, 2026, both “NPC Children Townies” and the separate “Epstein” household were downloadable. The outlet said the latter had more than 1,000 downloads when it checked; that is a reported figure from that date, not a current total. After EA’s response was published at 5:15 p.m. EST, Kotaku checked again and reported that “NPC Children Townies” had been removed while other Epstein-themed creations remained.

A March 3, 2026, report by Play3 said the older Epstein-and-Maxwell creation seemed to have been deleted. That follow-up does not establish the status of every related upload, and the available reporting does not verify what remains in the Gallery on October 8, 2026. It would be inaccurate to claim that all such creations are currently gone—or that any specific one is still available.
How do you report an inappropriate Sims 4 Gallery upload?
- Open the offending item in The Sims 4 Gallery.
- Select “Flag This.” Sims Community describes the flag control as appearing beside “Favourite” and “Save to Library.”
- Choose the reason that best explains how the item breaks Gallery rules and submit the report.
EA’s quoted guidance specifically directs players to use “Flag This” for Gallery content. Reporting a mod is a separate process: EA Help’s published route is its player-report webform. Select “Inappropriate content,” then “Other,” choose The Sims 4 as the game or service, describe the mod and relevant date, and submit the form.

What EA’s mod policy does—and does not—say
EA’s mod policy says that Maxis and EA do not pre-screen, endorse, or support specific mods or custom content. It also says mods must be non-commercial and distributed free of charge, and reserves EA’s right to address inappropriate mods, including content that is harmful or violates the User Agreement. Those statements concern mods; they are not a detailed account of how EA reviews every Gallery household or other Gallery upload.
