Eivor is called “Wolf-Kissed” because, as a child, Eivor survived an attack by a wolf. The name refers to that encounter and its lasting mark in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla; it is fictional character lore, not a historical Viking title.
How Eivor got the Wolf-Kissed name
In the game’s backstory, a wolf attacked Eivor during childhood, but Eivor survived. That encounter is the stated origin of the epithet “Wolf-Kissed.”

The exact explanation is given in a fan-maintained character reference, rather than the Ubisoft pages cited here. Ubisoft does use the epithet for Eivor: its 1 December 2022 overview describes The Last Chapter as “a new free story pack bringing an intimate closure to the saga of the Wolf-Kissed.” That confirms the official use of the name, but does not explain the childhood attack. Who is Eivor in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
Eivor is the protagonist of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Ubisoft describes Eivor as a Viking raider who leads a clan from Norway in search of a new home in ninth-century England.
