They explain her hostility as part of the game’s nighttime hunt: Pizzaplex security protocols send animatronics after intruders.
Why does Glamrock Chica chase Gregory?
Gregory is trapped overnight inside Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizzaplex, where he must survive while animatronics hunt him. PlayStation’s official game description says the pursuit begins when nighttime protocols are initiated and that the animatronics pursue intruders. A PlayStation Blog gameplay reveal likewise says Chica, Roxy, and Monty have been enlisted by Pizzaplex security to hunt the player.
That makes Chica an antagonist within the game’s survival-horror premise. The official descriptions frame her pursuit as part of a larger security-driven threat, rather than a uniquely personal grudge against Gregory.
Does the game say Chica is evil?
“Evil” is a reasonable shorthand for how dangerous she is to Gregory, but it is not a confirmed explanation of her nature or motives in these official summaries. They establish that she hunts intruders; they do not say she is inherently malicious or explain a deeper cause for her behavior.

In particular, these sources do not establish that Chica is possessed, suffering from a specific programming fault, or acting out of personal resentment. Those may appear as interpretations or fan theories, but they should not be presented as settled canon on the basis of the official descriptions.
What is confirmed, and what remains unclear?
- Confirmed: Chica is among the animatronics pursuing Gregory during the overnight events.
- Confirmed: The pursuit is presented as part of the Pizzaplex’s nighttime security threat, alongside other animatronics.
- Unresolved by these descriptions: Whether a more specific lore event or cause explains Chica’s hostility.
Nintendo’s official Switch listing also names Glamrock Chica among the pursuing characters and describes hiding, distraction, and escape as ways to survive. Those gameplay details clarify her role as an enemy, not the underlying reason she behaves that way. For the story itself, the Steam listing provides another official platform page for the game.
