The symptom alone does not identify one cause. First check the experience’s Settings and Help menus, then try another experience to see whether the issue follows your avatar.
First, identify what “walking weird” means
Notice whether your avatar moves without input, slides, turns unexpectedly, uses an unusual animation, or responds differently than you expect. Also note your device and whether you are using a keyboard, mouse, touch controls, or another input method. Those details help distinguish a control or setting issue from something specific to an experience.
Check whether it happens in one experience or several
- Try another experience. If your character moves normally there, the issue may be tied to the first experience rather than a general Roblox setting.
- Open the affected experience’s settings and help. Roblox’s In-experience Settings and Help menu includes camera and accessibility options, plus input instructions for keyboard, mouse, and mobile gestures. Developers can control some experience settings; for example, the camera mode can be switched between Classic and Follow only if the developer has not locked it.
- If the issue persists only there, contact that experience’s creator. Roblox’s general connection troubleshooting guidance notes that an experience may function poorly because of a bad script or too many objects. A persistent issue limited to one experience is best reported to its creator.
Check for camera-based avatar animation
If your avatar appears to mirror your body or facial movements, the experience may support Roblox’s camera-based avatar animation feature. It uses the device camera to animate an avatar in real time, but only in experiences that enable the feature. Check the experience details for Camera support, then turn the feature off from the Roblox menu as a test. Instructions are in Roblox’s Animate Your Avatar guide.
Reset your character if the experience allows it
Some experiences provide a Respawn or Reset Character control. Open the experience controls and choose the reset option if it is available; Roblox documents this in Experience Controls. This can help if the character seems stuck, but it is not a universal fix for unusual movement.

If the movement itself looks unusual, check its animation
If your avatar moves as expected but uses an unexpected emote or animation, review the available animation controls and emotes. Roblox’s Animation System (Emotes) page explains the emote system. An animation issue is different from movement that continues without input or responds incorrectly to controls.

- Your device and input method.
- What the avatar does, such as sliding, turning, moving without input, or playing an unexpected animation.
- Whether it happens in one experience or several.
- The steps that reliably reproduce it.
Report a problem confined to one experience to its creator. If it happens across experiences after you have checked the controls and settings, contact Roblox Support with the details above. The official guidance does not identify one fix that applies to every walking or movement symptom.
