If it is missing, there is no single cause established for every player. Start by testing the game without mods: EA says updates can make mods incompatible, and recommends checking creator compatibility notes and isolating conflicts if the interaction returns with mods disabled.
Where to find the pregnancy test
Select a toilet and look for the pregnancy-test interaction. EA’s pregnancy guide lists the test as the way to find out immediately and says it costs 15 Simoleons.
If the option is absent, the available official guidance does not establish every eligibility condition or identify one universal cause. Troubleshoot the game state rather than assuming the save is broken.
How to check whether mods are hiding the interaction
- Close the game and disable mods and custom content, then launch the game and check the toilet interaction again.
- If it returns, check the creators’ sites for compatibility with your installed game patch. EA notes that mods can become incompatible after updates and may need updating or a full reinstall. See EA’s mod troubleshooting guidance.
- Remove or update the problematic content. Re-enable mods in batches, checking the interaction after each batch, to narrow down a conflict.
- If the option is still missing with mods disabled, the cited official guidance does not give a specific cause or guarantee a fix for that individual case.
What happened with the July 2025 pregnancy bug
A widespread pregnancy issue followed the July 1, 2025 base-game update. In its July 16, 2025 patch notes, EA said it reverted performance optimizations to address the reported issues. The affected July 1 releases were PC 1.116.202.1030, Mac 1.116.223.1230, and console 2.14; the July 16 versions were PC 1.116.232.1030, Mac 1.116.232.1230, and console 2.16. EA also advised players using pregnancy-based mods to check with their creators.

That patch resolved the documented 2025 incident; it does not establish why a particular player’s option is missing now. Lumpinou’s July 2, 2025 post described the interaction disappearing in modded and unmodded games during that incident and marked its temporary workaround discontinued after EA’s fix. How to check for pregnancy while the test is unavailable
EA says pregnancy Moodlets can indicate that a Sim is pregnant and identify the trimester. Its guide says a pregnancy lasts about three days. These are in-game clues, not a substitute fix for a missing interaction.

When you want another Sim to take a test
The base-game toilet interaction and a social interaction asking another Sim to take a test are different things. The CurseForge listing for lotharihoe’s Ask To Check For Pregnancy describes a mod that lets a Sim ask another to take a test after Try for Baby, particularly useful for non-selectable Sims. It adds a different interaction; it is not evidence that the base-game option requires a mod. At access, the listing showed game versions 1.126.58, 1.126.78, 1.127.41, and 1.128.90, with a latest release date of February 20, 2026. Check the listing against your installed patch before using it, since compatibility can change.
