What can make Sleep disappear?
The available evidence points to more than one possibility, not a universal diagnosis. Players have reported that the option vanished after a pajama party, while EA warns that mods which worked before a game update can cause problems afterward. A missing menu option by itself does not establish which, if either, applies to your save.
It started after a pajama party
In an EA Forums report about a missing Sleep option after a sleepover party, players said the issue could persist after the event; some said fully restarting the game brought the interaction back. This is a community report, not an official diagnosis, and restarting may not help in every case.
It started after an update, or you use mods
EA explains that game updates can make previously working mods incompatible, and that a creator may need to update or reinstall a mod. EA recommends checking whether the game works with mods disabled before re-enabling them. How to troubleshoot the missing Sleep interaction
- Note when it began. Did Sleep disappear during or after a pajama party, after a game update, or without an obvious trigger? The timing can help you decide what to test first.
- Restart if the issue followed a pajama party. Some players in the forum report said a full game restart restored Sleep. Treat this as a quick, low-effort check, not a guaranteed solution.
- Test with mods disabled. Follow EA’s instructions to disable mods, launch the game, and check whether the interaction returns. If it does, consult the creators about compatibility with your installed game version, then update or remove the implicated content before re-enabling mods. EA recommends confirming the game works before adding mods back.
- Check your installed game version and the official patch notes. EA’s September 22, 2026 notes for “Sul Sul, Smarter Sims!” describe fixes involving stuck sleep interactions and interaction queues. They do not say that every case where Sleep is absent from a bed’s menu has been resolved.
- Compare where the problem occurs. Check whether Sleep is missing from one bed or every bed, and whether it affects one Sim or more than one. These comparisons help describe the issue; they do not identify a cause on their own.
If Sleep is still missing
When asking EA or the community for help, include the details that distinguish your case:
- Your platform and installed game version.
- Whether you use mods, custom content, or custom beds, and whether the issue remains with mods disabled.
- Whether Sleep is missing for every Sim and every bed, or only for a particular Sim or bed.
- Whether it began after an update, pajama party, or other specific event.
One EA Forums player reported that disabling mods and reloading restored Sleep, but that is an individual result, not evidence of a fix that works for everyone. The game’s EA support page is the official starting point for support.
