MWIII Zombies players reported that Acquisition Stash contents went missing after exfil or when they tried to enter Zombies in late 2023. That reliability complaint was separate from frustration with the stash’s size: the reported 10-acquisition limit was later doubled to 20 in the official Season 3 notes dated May 14, 2024. The notes document the capacity change, but they do not establish a current cause or recovery outcome for missing items.
What did players report about the Acquisition Stash?
A December 14, 2023 report by PiunikaWeb described player accounts of an empty Acquisition Stash after exfil or when attempting to enter Zombies. These were anecdotal reports relayed by a secondary publication, not a measured count of affected players or proof that every missing-stash report had the same cause. PiunikaWeb’s December 2023 report also said an official response and Trello entry indicated an investigation at the time; that historical account is not a current status update or a promise that lost items would be restored.

Was the problem missing items or limited capacity?
They were two different complaints. Reliability concerns involved items reportedly disappearing or being replaced. The capacity complaint was that the stash did not allow players to keep enough acquisitions. Official patch notes document specific historical bugs, but they do not show that those bugs explain every disappearance report.
Reported loss or replacement
The November 30, 2023 preseason notes describe a specific item-swap interaction that could replace newly stowed items, acquisitions, or schematics with previously sold items. This is a documented replacement bug, not proof that it caused reports of an entire stash being emptied or that it resolved those reports. The official preseason patch notes record that behavior.

The January 30, 2024 Season 1 notes, updated through January 31, list a fix for an issue that allowed more acquisitions in the stash than intended. That was a capacity-enforcement bug; it is distinct from the preseason swap interaction and from reports of missing contents. The official Season 1 patch notes describe the fix.
Limited capacity
PiunikaWeb described the limit as 10 slots in December 2023, when some players considered it restrictive. That is historical context, not the later limit: Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch’s May 14, 2024 Season 3 notes state that the storage limit was doubled, allowing 20 acquisitions instead of 10. The official Season 3 patch notes are the source for the dated change.

Is the Acquisition Stash issue currently listed by Activision?
Activision Support’s Known Issues page, updated August 7, 2026, describes itself as a running list of MWIII issues identified or reported that are under investigation or scheduled to be fixed. The issues listed on that page do not mention Acquisition Stash loss or capacity. That absence does not establish that no player still encounters the problem, that it has been resolved for every account, or that Activision has no other tracking. If you cannot find the issue there, use the MWIII Bug Report form linked from that support page. Describe what went missing and when you noticed it, and include the relevant in-game circumstances. The available information does not establish a universal restoration process, so do not assume that a report will result in recovered items.
