PS5 Game Help is available only in supported games and for objectives specifically marked with Game Help. If you do not see a card, first check whether the game and the objective you are working on offer the feature; a missing card does not by itself mean your console is faulty. PlayStation Support’s Game Help guidance, accessed October 13, 2026, describes hints, tips, and walkthrough videos as content that may be available depending on the game and what you are doing in it—not a guide guaranteed for every title or task.
Why a Game Help card may be missing
Game Help is selective, not a walkthrough service built into every PS5 game. PlayStation Support says hints, tips, or walkthrough videos may be available depending on the game and what you are doing in it, and only objectives marked with Game Help have help available. The feature page does not promise a card for every game, activity, or objective. See PlayStation Support’s Game Help guidance for the supported-feature details.

That availability limit is the first thing to check because it determines whether there is a card to troubleshoot. A card can be missing because the game does not support Game Help, because help is not offered for the current activity, or because the specific objective is not among the marked objectives. These are content-availability limits, not evidence by themselves of a problem with the PS5, controller, account, or game installation.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- No card appears: The game may not support Game Help, or help may not be available for your current activity.
- A card appears, but not for your objective: Only marked objectives have help. Check the objective list rather than assuming every task in a supported game has a guide.
- Details appear hidden: Some spoiler-related content is behind hidden activities. Follow the on-screen instructions if you want to reveal it.
It helps to separate a missing card from a missing detail. If you can open Game Help but cannot see a particular answer or walkthrough, look at the available objectives and any hidden-activity prompt. Sony’s instructions say spoiler-related content may be hidden and direct players to follow the on-screen steps to reveal it. That is different from a card not existing for the game or objective at all.

How to find and use the card
- Open the game and press the PS button to bring up the Control Center.
- Select the card marked Game Help, if one is available.
- Choose an objective marked with Game Help. The selected help appears on the card; if it includes a video, select Play.
- If you want to keep a guide visible while playing, use Multitasking and Pin to Side when those options are offered.
The important check is the label on the objective. Being in a game that supports Game Help does not mean that every objective in that game will have an accompanying hint or video. Select a listed objective that is specifically marked with Game Help; if the one you are pursuing is not marked, the feature guidance does not indicate that there is another menu or switch that will add help for it.
If the help is available as a video, select Play from the card. Depending on the type of help, the options button may provide closed-caption, audio, or multitasking settings. These controls affect how available help is displayed; they do not add help for an unsupported game or objective. Similarly, Multitasking and Pin to Side can keep an available guide visible while you play, where those options are offered, but they are display conveniences rather than availability fixes.
Some help may contain spoilers. If relevant details are hidden behind a hidden activity, use the on-screen instructions to reveal them. Do not treat hidden spoiler content as proof that a card is broken or that the game lacks all help. First determine whether the card is present, whether the objective is marked, and whether the interface is asking you to reveal a hidden activity.

What to do when the card or objective is still absent
- Return to the game’s Control Center and check whether a Game Help card is present.
- If it is present, open it and inspect the available objectives for the Game Help marking.
- If the card or your objective is not listed, treat that as a content-availability limit unless you have a separate game or console problem. PlayStation’s feature guidance does not describe a setting or repair procedure that forces Game Help to appear for unsupported content.
Work through those checks in order rather than jumping straight to system troubleshooting. Press the PS button while in the game, inspect the Control Center, and look for the card marked Game Help. If it is there, select it and see which objectives carry the Game Help marking. If the card is absent, the game may not be supported or there may be no help available for the current activity. If the card is present but the desired objective is not marked, help for that objective is not indicated as available.
This distinction also makes the result easier to interpret. Finding a card for one objective does not establish that the rest of the game’s objectives have help. Finding no card during one activity does not prove that every activity in the title lacks help. Sony describes availability as depending on the supported game and on what the player is doing. The practical check is the card and the markings currently shown, rather than assuming broad coverage from the game title alone.

If neither the card nor the objective appears, the official feature instructions do not document a way to force it into the Control Center. The appropriate next step is to continue without that Game Help content or use another guide you already have access to; do not assume a console repair is needed solely because a card is unavailable. No rate or percentage of games with Game Help is specified in the PlayStation guidance, so there is no reliable basis for estimating how often a missing card is an availability limit.
Restoring licenses, updating system software, or using Safe Mode should not be presented as fixes for an absent Game Help card: Sony’s cited troubleshooting pages do not say these actions restore missing Game Help content. Such steps belong to other symptom paths. Before trying them, identify whether the game itself is locked, missing, crashing, or failing to launch; if none of those is happening and only the help card is absent, start with feature availability instead.
Separate Game Help from game-launch and license problems
If the game itself is locked, missing from your library, crashing, or failing to start, troubleshoot that symptom separately. For license-related problems, Sony documents this PS5 path: Settings > Users and Accounts > Other > Restore Licenses. The PlayStation license-restoration guide lists circumstances such as a locked game, a missing game or add-on, or a game that crashes; it does not identify missing Game Help as a reason to restore licenses.
That difference matters because it is easy to conflate trouble accessing a game with trouble accessing optional help content inside a game. If the game is locked, a game or add-on cannot be located, or the game crashes, license restoration may fit the symptom Sony lists. Follow the path shown above and Sony’s license guidance for that situation. If the game launches and plays but its Game Help card is absent, license restoration is not a documented way to create a card or make an unmarked objective supported.
For a game that will not start, follow the relevant steps in PlayStation’s UK game-launch troubleshooting guide. That guidance covers launch issues, not a way to make an unavailable Game Help card appear. It includes account and license checks, service status, system software, restarting, and Safe Mode options. Use those steps when the launch symptom matches; do not treat them as a guaranteed remedy for missing Game Help content.

- PS Remote Play requires Remote Play App connected to Wi-Fi, PS4 or PS5 console with the latest system software and compatible game. A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
A useful way to decide which route applies is to ask what is actually failing. If you can start the game and the only issue is that a help card or objective is not offered, check support and markings. If the game cannot be accessed or started, or it crashes, use the matching license or launch troubleshooting. The two problems can coexist, but one does not prove the other: fixing a launch or license problem may let you play the game, while the availability of Game Help still depends on supported content.

Community Game Help is a separate setting
Community Game Help concerns player-submitted video captures; it is not an opt-in switch that guarantees a guide for every game. To manage participation, go to Settings > Captures & Broadcasts > Auto Captures > Community Game Help and choose Participate if you are eligible. Sony says participation is available only to adult accounts. The feature has a monthly capture limit and provides a view of published videos, but the cited guidance does not specify a numeric limit.
Community participation is therefore relevant if your question is about submitting or managing community videos, not a general fix for a missing standard Game Help card. The setting lets an eligible adult account choose to participate. It does not override the availability rules for a particular game or objective, and opting in does not guarantee that a video or card will exist for every task.
You can opt out. Sony says opting out stops future capture and upload and removes your published videos. That setting concerns your participation and videos; it does not create Game Help coverage for a title or objective that does not offer it. If you are investigating an absent card, change this setting only if your issue specifically concerns Community Game Help participation or your published videos.
Because Community Game Help has a monthly capture limit, participation also should not be described as unlimited capture or publication. Sony’s instructions explain that a limit exists but do not give a numeric allowance in the cited guidance. The practical choices are to review the setting and published-video view, confirm that the account meets the adult-account eligibility rule, and decide whether to participate. None of those checks establishes that standard Game Help content is available for a given objective.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Assuming every PS5 game has Game Help: Sony describes the feature as available for supported games, not universally.
- Expecting a guide for every activity: Help is available only for objectives marked Game Help, even in supported games.
- Confusing hidden content with missing content: Some spoiler-related details are behind hidden activities; follow the on-screen reveal instructions where shown.
- Restoring licenses just because a card is absent: Sony associates license restoration with separate issues such as a locked game, missing game or add-on, or crashing.
- Opting into Community Game Help to unlock a guide: Participation manages community video captures and does not guarantee coverage for every game or task.
- Buying accessories or repair tools: Game Help is accessed through the console interface, and the cited PlayStation guidance does not support buying a controller, remote, printed guide, or repair tool as a fix for unavailable cards.
The practical answer
Check the Control Center and the objective markings first. If Game Help is not offered for that game or activity, the cited PlayStation guidance provides no way to force a card into view. Use license or launch troubleshooting only when the game itself is locked, missing, crashing, or unable to start. For Community Game Help, check the separate participation setting and adult-account eligibility; do not confuse those controls with a way to guarantee standard Game Help coverage.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there no Game Help card on my PS5?
Game Help is limited to supported games and may depend on what you are doing in the game. Press the PS button, open the Control Center, and look for a Game Help card. Its absence alone does not show that the console is faulty.
Does every objective in a supported game have a hint or walkthrough?
No. PlayStation Support says help is available only for objectives marked with Game Help. Check the objective list in the card rather than expecting every task to have guidance.
Can I force a Game Help card to appear?
Sony’s feature guidance does not describe a setting or repair procedure that forces a card to appear for an unsupported game or unmarked objective. Check availability first.
Will restoring licenses fix missing Game Help?
Sony documents license restoration for separate issues such as a locked game, a missing game or add-on, or a game that crashes. Its guidance does not identify an absent Game Help card as a license problem.

How do I keep Game Help visible while I play?
When the options are offered, use Multitasking and Pin to Side. For certain types of help, the options button may also provide closed-caption, audio, or multitasking settings.
Why are some Game Help details hidden?
Some spoiler-related content may be behind hidden activities. Follow the on-screen instructions to reveal those details.

No. Community Game Help manages player-submitted video captures and does not guarantee a guide for every game or objective. Participation is available only to adult accounts, and the feature has a monthly capture limit.
What happens if I opt out of Community Game Help?
Sony says opting out stops future capture and upload and removes your published videos. It does not add or remove standard Game Help coverage for a game or objective.
The Bottom Line
A missing PS5 Game Help card is often an availability issue, not a console fault: check the Control Center, supported game, and objective markings. Reserve license restoration and launch troubleshooting for problems with the game itself, and treat Community Game Help as a separate video-participation setting.
