Is the Roblox Oof sound back?
Yes. Where did the Oof sound come from, and who owns it?
Roblox’s 2019 account said founders Erik and David obtained the Oof, along with the platform’s original sounds, from a stock sound CD-ROM of licensed, copyright-free sounds. Roblox made that statement in response to discussion about the sound’s origin. It is the company’s account, not an independent adjudication of the recording’s creation or ownership. That provenance claim and the later licensing issue are separate. The available statements do not establish the complete creation and rights history, identify a creator with independently verified evidence, or explain the exact licensing dispute.
