What caused the One True Flag crashes?
The official patch notes describe two different triggers, not one continuing bug. In July 2025, Arrowhead’s emergency hotfix 01.003.201 listed a fix for “the host crashing the game for other players when planting the CQC-1 One True Flag stratagem.” The note describes a host crash that affected other players; it does not say every mission or session crashed. A second issue appeared in Arrowhead’s March 25, 2026 notes for update 6.1.1: “Fixed a crash happening when swapping between weapons while planting the One True Flag in multiplayer.” This is a distinct, more specific trigger: changing weapons during the flag-planting action in multiplayer.

Arrowhead’s September 2, 2025 update 01.003.200 also changed the flag so it could be planted directly into enemies. That gameplay change is context for how the weapon behaves, not evidence about crash frequency. Arrowhead Game Studios’ patch notes.

Is the One True Flag still crashing games?
The official notes reviewed establish that Arrowhead announced fixes for both documented crash conditions. They do not establish how often either bug occurred, how many players were affected, or whether the March 2026 weapon-swap crash still occurs on any platform today. A fix announcement is not proof that no related crash can ever recur.
The September 2026 notes list One True Flag animation and placement fixes alongside other crash fixes, but do not say that the March weapon-swap crash remained active or declare every flag-related crash universally resolved. Avoid treating community descriptions such as “crashing the game” as a measure of prevalence: no published count or share of affected sessions is given in these patch notes.

What should players do?
If the game crashes while using the flag, note whether it happens during planting, specifically while swapping weapons, or under another circumstance. That distinction matters because the official notes describe separate historical triggers. Check Arrowhead’s current patch notes for a newer flag-specific fix or acknowledgment before concluding that the old issue is active again. The available evidence does not identify either historical crash as exclusive to a particular platform.
Helldivers 2 is listed for PS5, PC, and Xbox on PlayStation’s US game page, which also says online play is required. That platform listing does not show which platform, if any, experienced either flag-related crash.
