The checks below run from most to least common, and the first two resolve most cases.
Quick checklist before you try again
- Confirm that the email address or EA ID you entered belongs to the EA Account you are trying to recover.
- Look in your spam or junk folder, and in any custom filter folders your email app uses.
- Check that your inbox has free space and that your email provider has not blocked EA.
- Sign out of any other EA Account that is signed in on the same browser or device, then request the reset again.
- If nothing arrives after these checks, move to the recovery steps further down rather than waiting indefinitely. EA’s help pages do not publish a delivery time for reset emails.
Check that you used the right EA email or EA ID
A reset request has to point at the identifier linked to the account. Start the process with the forgot-password option on EA’s sign-in page, then enter the email address or EA ID tied to the account. If the address is wrong, or was never attached to the account, the reset goes to a mailbox that has no connection to the account, and you will never see it. Retyping the address carefully is the fastest test.
If you are not sure which email is linked
EA’s help content describes checking the account details on EA.com. In some cases, the EA game settings on PlayStation or Xbox also show the linked email. EA notes that the console steps may not work for every game, so treat them as one option rather than a guaranteed route. If your PlayStation or Xbox sign-in is linked to the EA Account, that platform login may also let you reach the EA account information page.
Check spam, mailbox storage, and blocked senders
- Spam and junk folders. Search for messages from EA. Reset mail that lands here is often the simplest explanation.
- Mailbox capacity. A full inbox can stop new messages from arriving. Free some space, then request the reset again.
- Blocked senders. Check the blocked-sender list in your webmail or mail app, and confirm that your email provider has not blocked EA’s messages.
When verification codes do not arrive
EA’s two-factor authentication help says: “If you’re not getting codes sent to your email, try resending the code.” That is procedural guidance for verification codes, not a promise that every password reset email will be delivered. If the code still does not arrive:

- Search your mailbox for an earlier message from [email protected]. If you have one, the address is reaching you and the problem is more likely with the current request.
- Allow images to display for the message if your mail app blocks them, because EA’s messages can depend on this to render correctly.
- Resend the code and check the inbox again.
Recovery when you can no longer reach the email
If the mailbox has been closed, locked, or you no longer know its password, the mailbox recovery process belongs to your email provider. Contact the provider first. Once you regain access, request the EA reset again to the same address.

- The original email address attached to the account
- The linked EA ID, and any PlayStation or Xbox IDs that are connected to the account
- Relevant EA Store invoice numbers or product codes from your purchases
Support requests are easier to resolve when these details match what EA has on file, which is why gathering them before you write in helps.

When the reset email was unexpected
An unexpected reset or verification message is not, by itself, proof that your account has been hacked. EA’s phishing guidance states: “If you’re receiving verification codes, password reset emails, or welcome emails for an EA Account you didn’t create, it doesn’t always mean someone has access to your email account.” Another person may have mistyped an address or used it by mistake.
Until you know where the message came from, handle it carefully:

- Do not click links in the message, and do not share any verification code with anyone.
- Check that the sender address uses an EA domain. Then inspect where a link actually points before you open it.
- If you think your email account itself may be compromised, change that email account’s password first.
- If you think the EA Account may be compromised, change both the EA password and the email password, and turn on two-factor authentication.
- If you still cannot log in after these steps, contact EA support.
Keeping the email account secure matters most here, because the mailbox is what receives every future reset and verification message for the EA Account.
