Roblox removes or restricts an account when its user-generated content or behavior violates the Roblox Terms, Community Standards, or applicable law. Its enforcement ranges from warnings and content removal to restrictions, suspension, and termination. How severe the violation was, and whether the account has earlier or repeated violations, both shape which action Roblox takes. Roblox does not publish the reason for an individual account in general policy pages, so the reason for your case will be in your moderation notice or in Roblox’s review of it.
First, confirm which kind of ban you have
Before deciding what to do, check who issued the restriction. A Roblox account action and a ban from a single experience are handled through different channels.
| Question | Roblox account moderation | Creator-issued experience ban |
|---|---|---|
| Who issues it | Roblox, using moderators and automated systems | The creator of one specific experience |
| Scope | Account-level, including restriction, suspension, or termination of the account | One experience. Roblox says the user may still access other experiences and platform features. |
| Typical identifier | A moderation notice from Roblox | Error Code 600, which Roblox says indicates the account was banned by a creator from that experience |
| Who can reverse it | Roblox, through the appeal route in the notice | The experience’s creator. Roblox Support says it cannot remove a creator-issued ban. |
If you see Error Code 600 and can still log in and use other parts of Roblox, you are dealing with a creator’s ban rather than a termination of your account. The rest of this article covers Roblox-level action.
What can lead to an account action
Roblox’s Terms cover user-generated content or behavior that breaks the Terms, the Community Standards and other policies incorporated into them, or applicable law. The measures Roblox lists include:
#1 Best Overall
- Redemption: Online only. Robux cards can only be redeemed in a browser at Roblox.com/redeem. They cannot be redeemed in the Roblox mobile app or any video game console.

- Deck out your avatar and unlock additional perks in your favorite experiences when you use Roblox Gift Cards to purchase Robux (Roblox's virtual currency).
- Each gift card grants a free virtual item upon redemption.
- Warnings
- Blocking, removing, or deleting user-generated content
- Restricting access to Roblox services
- Suspending or terminating content or an account
- Contacting law enforcement
How violations are identified
Roblox uses both human moderators and automated systems to flag behavior that may break its policies. Depending on severity and impact, the response may be a warning, content removal, or an account restriction. Roblox’s moderation guidance also says that historical behavior and repeated violations can make consequences more serious. A first-time problem and a long record of similar problems can therefore lead to different outcomes for similar conduct.
Examples Roblox names directly
Roblox names two categories as examples. These are illustrations of what it enforces, not a diagnosis of any particular account:

- Cheating or exploiting. Roblox says this violates its Terms and can lead to account deletion.
- Modified Roblox software. Using a modified app or other software that changes how Roblox works can lead to account action, including temporary suspension, or a permanent ban if the behavior is repeated. Roblox’s Anti-cheat Messages support article puts it this way: “If you use a modified version of Roblox, we might have to take action on your account.”
Why the notice may not name the exact reason
Roblox says it will tell users why it acted, but it lists exceptions. Notice may be delayed or omitted where legal restrictions apply, during an investigation, where there is a risk of harm, for technical reasons, or where applicable law does not require notice. A vague notice therefore does not by itself mean the action was arbitrary, and no public Roblox page lets you look up the signals used in your case.

An appeal asks Roblox to review the action. Start with the moderation notice, because it lists the appeal options that apply to your case.

- Open the moderation notice and identify the appeal options it offers.
- If the notice links to Violations & Appeals, use that link. This route is available for some violation categories.
- If the violation does not appear in Violations & Appeals, submit an appeal through the Roblox Support form. Roblox’s article “Appeal Your Content or Account Moderation” describes this route.
- Enter the account username and a brief statement explaining why you believe the decision deserves review.
- Use a valid email address associated with the account.
- Submit the appeal yourself. Roblox says the account owner must send the appeal to protect user privacy. Its support article on appeals for friends states that moderation status is discussed only with the account owner or a parent or guardian, so a friend cannot submit or pursue the appeal for you.
Deadlines and limits
| Situation | Stated limit |
|---|---|
| General appeal of a moderation action | Within 30 days of the moderation action |
| Initial moderation action, EU users | Six months. EU users may also have additional dispute-resolution rights, described on Roblox’s appeal guidance. Check the current official page for your jurisdiction. |
| Second appeal of an action already reviewed | Not reviewed. Roblox says duplicate appeals for the same action will not be reviewed. |
| Creator-issued ban (Error Code 600) | Not stated in Roblox’s Error Code 600 guidance. Contact the experience’s creator. |
What to write in the appeal
Keep the statement short, factual, and tied to the notice. Roblox says reviewers weigh the severity of the violation, the reason you give for appealing, and your behavior on the platform. A clear response to the stated reason is more useful than a long general complaint. Roblox also states plainly that “Submitting an appeal does not guarantee the consequence will be removed.” Plan around that outcome, and keep your own copy of the notice and the appeal confirmation.

What to avoid while you wait
- Exploit tools and modified clients. Roblox warns that exploit downloads may contain malware or tools that steal credentials. Using them can also create a new violation.
- Paid “unban” services. Roblox’s own appeal and support channels are the official route to review. Payment to a third party does not change the review process, and offers that promise reinstatement should be treated with caution.
- Multiple duplicate appeals. Once an action has been reviewed, further appeals on the same action will not be reviewed.
