For Patch 7.3a, Wild Rift Core’s October 4 review names Malphite (Baron/Top), Nocturne (Jungle), Hwei (Mid), Senna (Dragon/ADC), and Thresh (Support) as its S+ picks. That is one publisher’s dated judgment, not an official Riot ranking: other current lists make different calls, and a tier label cannot account for your team composition, comfort with a champion, or execution.
Use the role-by-role picks below as a starting point, then check the update date and evidence behind any list you use. Patch 7.3a went live in Riot’s notes on September 29, 2026, and includes balance changes that can affect champion evaluations.
Wild Rift Patch 7.3a tier list by role
The table reports Wild Rift Core’s S+ role picks as reviewed October 4, 2026. It is not a complete ranking of every champion: the available current lists do not provide a consistent, fully verified master roster and comparable placement for every champion.
| Role | Wild Rift Core S+ pick | What to consider when choosing |
|---|---|---|
| Baron/Top | Malphite | Check whether your team needs the role and engage tools he provides, and whether his matchups suit your plan. |
| Jungle | Nocturne | Consider your comfort with jungle routes and timing, not just the tier label. |
| Mid | Hwei | His execution and mastery matter; Riot’s patch notes say his performance had continued to rise as players learned his kit. |
| Dragon/ADC | Senna | Consider how the pick fits your team’s damage and lane composition. |
| Support | Thresh | Account for execution demands and whether your team can follow up on his plays. |
These are examples from Wild Rift Core’s S+ tier, not a guarantee of match results or a claim that the same champion is best for every player or draft.

Why current lists disagree
Tier lists are editorial evaluations rather than a single official ladder. Wild Rift Core’s Patch 7.3a page was reviewed by EllieAnth, whom it identifies as a Challenger player, on October 4. Its criteria include ranked impact, lane power, ease of execution, teamfight value, snowball potential, solo-queue stability, and overall meta presence. Wild Rift Fire maintains a role-filtered list through iTzSTU4RT, identified on its page as a Challenger-tier streamer and educator. Pocket Gamer’s article is dated October 5 and says Hwei is its latest addition.
The judgments differ: Wild Rift Core places Malphite at S+ for Top and Thresh at S+ for Support; Wild Rift Fire highlights Shen and Malphite among leading selections across roles and includes Thresh in its S+ group. These are different publishers’ evaluations, not a factual conflict with one definitive answer. Pocket Gamer also discusses off-meta options such as Vayne top and Seraphine mid when team composition makes them suitable. A champion’s placement can therefore depend on a list’s criteria, date, role assumptions, and view of execution difficulty.

What Patch 7.3a changes mean for rankings
Riot Games’ Wild Rift Game Design Team published Patch 7.3a notes on September 29, 2026. The notes cover champion and item adjustments, jungle and Turret Plating tuning, and AAA ARAM updates. Riot says Hwei’s performance had continued to rise as players mastered his kit, and reduced his overall damage. The same notes say Samira had been underperforming across skill levels and increased her damage and durability; they include ability-level changes for both champions.
Those adjustments help explain why a patch-specific list can move. They do not, on their own, establish that a champion belongs in a particular tier: the S+ examples above are attributable to Wild Rift Core’s October 4 review, not inferred from Riot’s balance notes. Read Riot’s Patch 7.3a notes for the specific changes.

Wild Rift Fire says its ranked statistics come exclusively from the Wild Rift China server, which it describes as the only region with official ranked statistics, and that its data updates daily. Its page offers rank and role filters and displays win, pick, and ban rates. Treat its numbers as China-server snapshots, not global or timeless performance claims.
In the Wild Rift Fire snapshot accessed October 7, 2026, the overall display showed Rammus at 56.49% win rate, Shen at 56.48%, Malphite at 55.33%, Nocturne at 55.13%, Senna at 54.91%, and Hwei at 54.74%. Hwei’s displayed pick rate was 10.29% and ban rate was 67.37%. These are figures reported by Wild Rift Fire for its China-server statistics page, not Riot-authored statistics. Rates vary with the page’s filters and update over time; check the selected role and rank before applying them to your own games.

Statistical performance and editorial tier placement are related but not interchangeable. Wild Rift Core also displays role-ranking figures, but the reviewed page does not establish a sample definition directly comparable with Wild Rift Fire’s. Do not combine their values into one leaderboard unless region, rank bracket, role, timeframe, and methodology match.

A high tier is a useful shortlist, not a substitute for picking well. Before locking in, weigh:
- Team composition: Does the pick supply something your team needs, and can teammates support its plan?
- Role and matchup: Is the champion appropriate for this role and the lane or opposing team you expect?
- Execution: Can you use the champion’s tools reliably under match pressure? A list may account for ease of execution, but your own experience still matters.
- Evidence and date: Is the list for Patch 7.3a, and does it show who made it, the region, rank bracket, and statistical basis?
These checks also help explain why an off-meta choice can make sense in a particular composition without becoming a broadly recommended pick.
