It is not established that Disney Dreamlight Valley has a policy of refusing to restore lost Dreamlight. A December 20, 2023 report by PiunikaWeb attributed that claim to an unnamed player’s account of a customer-care contact. The article did not publish the support response or cite an official reimbursement policy, so it cannot confirm Gameloft’s current position.
What happened with Glitchy Pixel Duplicate?
PiunikaWeb reported that players said crafting with Glitchy Pixel Duplicate could consume more inventory items than the recipe required—potentially all available items of a material. The reported losses could include Dreamlight, which the article described as in-game currency. This was a reported in-game crafting problem, not a failure involving a physical product.
The outlet said the team had acknowledged the issue and was working on a fix. However, its article did not reproduce a statement from Gameloft or identify a speaker, affected platform, or game version. Read the report as an account of what players and the outlet said at the time, not as a detailed official incident notice.
Did Gameloft say lost Dreamlight would not be returned?
PiunikaWeb attributed the claim that lost Dreamlight would not be restored to an unnamed player who said they had contacted customer care. The article did not include the support reply, name the player, or cite a published policy. It also described the eventual outcome as uncertain.

That evidence supports a narrower conclusion: one report relayed a player’s account of a support interaction. It does not establish a blanket rule that Gameloft will never restore Dreamlight, nor does it show whether affected players ultimately received compensation.
What precautions did the 2023 report suggest?
At the time, PiunikaWeb advised players to avoid using Glitchy Pixel Duplicate while crafting and suggested dropping the item to reduce the chance of selecting it accidentally. Those were historical recommendations in the 2023 article, not verified current support instructions. The report does not establish whether the bug was fixed, whether the advice is still necessary, or whether the behavior recurred in later versions.

What can affected players conclude today?
The available report does not answer whether the issue remains in current versions or what Gameloft’s current restoration policy is. It gives no count of affected players or amount of Dreamlight lost. For a present-day case, rely on current in-game or official support channels rather than treating an unnamed player’s 2023 account as a guarantee of the outcome.
