Rockstar’s official game page shows that date and those platforms, and Take-Two’s announced future lineup lists the same date. Neither company has published a newer delay announcement in the official material available on that date. That is the currently announced plan, not a guarantee that it will hold.
The headline suggests Take-Two has made a fresh statement about delay risk. The record does not show one. The most recent on-record Take-Two statement about the date is CEO Strauss Zelnick’s comment from November 6, 2025, when the date was set. The September 2026 comments that followed concerned platform strategy and PC, not the release schedule.

Where the release date stands today
Three official sources line up on the same date:
- Rockstar Games’ live Grand Theft Auto VI page lists November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
- Take-Two’s fourth-quarter and fiscal year 2026 results release, which lists its future lineup, gives the same date and the same two platforms.
- No later official notice in the reviewed material moves the date or adds a platform.
Because the date is a company plan rather than a contractual promise, the practical test for any delay is whether an official source changes. A rumor, a missing trailer, or a quiet store page is not, on its own, evidence of a new date.

How the date was set in November 2025
The current date is not the original one. In its fiscal second-quarter 2026 results release, dated November 6, 2025 and hosted by the SEC, Take-Two said Rockstar would now release the game on November 19, 2026. That release carried the company’s clearest on-record reassurance about the date. Zelnick said:

Read this as the company’s expressed confidence at that point, not a guarantee. It was made nearly a year before the current date and has not been repeated as a fresh reaffirmation in the official material available as of October 8, 2026. Anyone citing it should date it to November 2025.

What the September 2026 comments did and did not say
PC Gamer reported on September 18, 2026, from Take-Two’s annual meeting. In that report, Zelnick discussed the company’s general strategy for platforms with meaningful audiences and said PC was becoming more important. The coverage gives no GTA VI PC release date and does not announce a PC version.
Treat those remarks as strategy, not a port announcement. Launch platforms for the game remain PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on the official page.

What would count as a real delay signal
Use official changes as your checklist. If any of the following appears, the date has moved; if none does, the November 19, 2026 plan stands:
- A revised date in a Take-Two earnings or investor release.
- A new release date or platform list on Rockstar’s official Grand Theft Auto VI page.
- A change to the release listing in Take-Two’s announced future lineup.
- A formal Rockstar or Take-Two announcement that adds, removes or moves a platform.
Rumors, store-page placeholders and analyst speculation fall outside that list. They may be worth watching, but they are not confirmation.
