Supercell’s published rules reviewed here do not say that using a VPN by itself will get you banned from Clash of Clans. They prohibit cheating tools and unauthorized software that changes or interferes with gameplay. But Supercell does not specifically promise that VPN use, changing IP addresses, or shared VPN addresses will never trigger an account security check.
What Supercell’s rules prohibit
Supercell’s Safe and Fair Play policy applies to Clash of Clans and describes prohibited third-party software as applications that manipulate gameplay or provide unearned progress. The Terms of Service also prohibit cheats, exploits, automation, emulators, bots, hacks, mods, and unauthorized third-party software designed to modify or interfere with a Supercell game or service. Supercell’s Terms of Service
Supercell says attempts to gain an unfair advantage with prohibited third-party software can result in a permanent account ban. In an April 30, 2024 announcement, the Clash of Clans Team said, “Players utilizing third-party software will also be permanently banned.” That announcement concerns bot and third-party-software enforcement, not VPNs specifically. How VPN use differs from cheating software
A VPN routes a device’s network traffic through another server. The cited rules do not classify ordinary VPN routing as gameplay modification, automation, or cheating. The practical distinction is what the software does: routing traffic is different from altering the game, automating actions, or interfering with the service.
That distinction is not an explicit Supercell approval of VPNs. The Terms of Service give Supercell broad authority to suspend or terminate accounts when it believes a user has failed to comply with the terms or made actual or suspected improper use of the service. The terms do not establish that VPN use alone is improper.

What is not established about VPN IP addresses
The official policy and Terms of Service reviewed do not specifically address VPNs, changing IP addresses, shared VPN addresses, or whether a particular connection pattern can lead to a security check. They also do not publish a VPN-related ban rate or guarantee that any connection pattern is risk-free. It would be inaccurate to say either that VPN users are automatically banned or that Supercell guarantees VPN use is safe.
Do not use a VPN—or any other tool—as a way to evade enforcement, manipulate matchmaking, or conceal prohibited software. The rules focus on prohibited gameplay conduct, and Supercell reserves the right to act on suspected violations.

If you are banned or cannot log in
If your account is suspended, banned, or inaccessible, use the in-game support features or contact Supercell through its official support portal. Its support index includes topics about penalties and bans, but does not provide VPN-specific guidance on IP changes or login checks. Switching VPN servers is not an established fix for an account problem.
