Yes. EA says Origin purchases and content are tied to your EA account, and games already installed through Origin should appear in the EA app library without another download. Sign in to the EA app with the same EA account you used for Origin. EA also says saves, playtime, and your Origin friends list carry over; if something is missing, check the account first, then use EA’s recovery and support guidance.
What transfers from Origin?
EA links purchases to the EA account used to make them. Its Mac transition FAQ says games bought through Origin can be downloaded from the EA app when you sign into that same account. The guidance does not describe moving purchases between different EA accounts.

- Games and other content: EA says Origin games and content appear in the EA app. A game you own but have not installed can be downloaded from your Library.
- Games already installed: EA says games installed through Origin should appear in the EA app Library ready to play; this is different from downloading an uninstalled game.
- Saves and playtime: EA says local and cloud saves, including local Mac saves and Origin cloud saves, transfer. It also says in-game hours shown in Origin will be listed in the EA app. These are general platform assurances, not a guarantee about every title or individual account.
- Friends: EA’s transition FAQ says the Origin friends list carries over.

Do I have to redownload my games?
Not necessarily. EA says games already installed through Origin should show in the EA app Library without needing another download. Games that are in your account but not installed can be downloaded from the Library. An entry in your Library confirms access to the game, not that it is installed locally or will run on every computer.

How to find your Origin games in the EA app
- Check your computer’s compatibility. EA currently lists Windows 10 or 11 on a 64-bit PC, or macOS Catalina or newer, for the EA app. Check EA’s EA app page for current requirements; individual games may have separate system requirements.
- Install and open the EA app. Get the app from EA’s official download page.
- Sign in with the EA account you used for Origin. Purchases are linked to that account, so using another account can make the library appear incomplete.
- Open Library and locate the game. Choose a game you own but have not installed to download it. Origin-installed games should appear there according to EA’s guidance.
Why are my Origin games missing from the EA app?
A missing item does not by itself mean the purchase has vanished. First confirm that the EA app is signed into the account used for Origin. Then follow EA’s missing-library and App Recovery guidance, which EA recommends for library or download problems. If those steps do not restore the content, contact EA Support; the official guidance does not establish a universal account-specific fix.
Does this apply to Mac?
EA announced the EA app for Mac on March 26, 2024, saying Origin players would find their games and content—including games already installed—in the EA app, with local and cloud saves transferred. EA’s current app page lists macOS Catalina or newer as supported. EA’s 2024 announcement said people on unsupported macOS devices could continue using Origin at that time, but that dated rollout note is not confirmation that Origin remains available now.
