Pokémon Bank is scheduled to end on February 26, 2027, at 03:00 UTC. After that, transfers between Bank and Pokémon HOME will no longer be possible. Move any Pokémon you want to keep into HOME before the deadline. The transfer requires a paid Pokémon HOME Premium Plan.
When does Pokémon Bank expire?
Pokémon Support’s notice, published August 18, 2026, sets the end of Pokémon Bank service for February 26, 2027, at 03:00 UTC. The notice says Bank-to-HOME transfers will stop at that time and recommends moving Pokémon to HOME beforehand. See Pokémon Support’s service notice.

First decide which Pokémon you want to retain in HOME, then choose the transfer route that fits your situation. Both routes require Pokémon HOME Premium. The move is one-way: Pokémon transferred to HOME cannot be sent back to Bank.

If you have a Nintendo 3DS and want to choose boxes
- Make sure the Nintendo Network ID associated with Pokémon Bank is linked to the Nintendo Account you use with Pokémon HOME.
- Open Pokémon HOME and choose the option to move Pokémon from Bank. HOME will provide a temporary Moving Key.
- Start Pokémon Bank on the 3DS, enter the Moving Key, and select the boxes to transfer. The key expires after three minutes, so enter it promptly.
- Confirm the move only after checking your selection. Once transferred, Pokémon cannot be returned to Bank. Follow Pokémon Support’s connection instructions and transfer guidance.
If you do not have a 3DS
A 3DS is not required for the official linked-account route. Link the Nintendo Network ID tied to Bank with the Nintendo Account used for HOME, then start the move in Pokémon HOME. This method moves every Pokémon in Bank at once, rather than letting you select boxes. Review the account-linking requirements in Pokémon Support’s instructions before starting.
Can you still access Pokémon Bank if your pass expired?
An expired pass does not necessarily prevent you from checking the Pokémon stored in Bank. Pokémon Support instructs users to start Bank on a Nintendo 3DS family system, decline the prompt to buy a pass, and select “Use Pokémon Bank.” That guidance does not promise that stored Pokémon can be accessed after the service shutdown. No. Pokémon Bank and Pokémon HOME Premium are separate services. Pokémon Support says a paid HOME Premium Plan is required to connect Bank and HOME for a transfer; an existing Bank subscription is independent of HOME Premium and is not refundable. Check the current plan terms with Pokémon Support before purchasing or renewing.
