No sequel has been officially announced by Quantic Dream in the sources checked as of October 8, 2026. There is no confirmed release date, platform, story, or production status for Detroit: Become Human 2. That does not mean Quantic Dream has ruled out making one; it means a sequel remains unconfirmed.
Is Detroit: Become Human 2 confirmed or in development?
Quantic Dream’s official game pages, studio history, and press materials reviewed for this article do not announce a sequel. They also do not establish that one is in development or that the studio has canceled or ruled it out. Why a sequel is possible—but not confirmed
Detroit: Become Human remains a major commercial success for the studio. Quantic Dream reported on February 27, 2025, that the game had sold more than 11 million copies worldwide before 2025 began. The company had previously reported passing 9 million by early 2024 and 10 million in fall 2024. These are developer-reported sales milestones; they do not confirm that a sequel has been approved. In that post, the company wrote, “You make us incredibly proud, and we can’t wait to share more adventures with you in the future!” This is a general expression of future creative plans, not a promise or hint that the next adventure will be a Detroit sequel.
Quantic Dream’s public project listings include Star Wars Eclipse, unveiled in December 2021, and Spellcasters Chronicles. Those projects provide studio context, but the public list does not establish what the studio is developing privately or whether a sequel is impossible. Why the story of a sequel would be difficult to predict
The original game, released in spring 2018, is a branching interactive narrative. Quantic Dream describes it as having around forty possible endings and hundreds of combinations. With that many outcomes, there is no confirmed single ending that a sequel would have to continue; choosing one would be a creative decision, not something established by current official information.
