As of October 8, 2026, no official sequel announcement or confirmed active sequel project was identified in the public sources reviewed. Remedy once said it would like to make a sequel, but that comment dates to 2016 and does not establish the studio’s plans today.
Has Quantum Break 2 been announced?
No. Remedy’s official games catalogue lists Quantum Break, but does not announce a sequel. The available public sources likewise do not confirm that a sequel is in active development. That is a conclusion about what has been publicly established, not proof that no private discussions or work exist.

What did Remedy say about a sequel?
In an interview around the original game’s 2016 release, Remedy communications lead Thomas Puha said: “We’d love to do a sequel, but there’s no plan right now, and we need to see how people react to Quantum Break.” The CGMagazine interview records interest at that time alongside the absence of a plan then. It is historical, not a current update on Remedy’s or Microsoft’s intentions.
#1 Best Overall
- Quantum Break includes full game download of Alan Wake, the Xbox 360 game playable on Xbox One, as well as The Signal and The Writer add-ons (download code is located on a card within the disc case)
- In-depth, fast-paced narrative experience crafted by Remedy Entertainment, the studios of Alan wake.
- Top quality live action show that is directly impacted by choices made in-game.
- Stellar cast, including Shawn Ashmore as the hero Jack Joyce, Aidan Gillen as his nemesis Paul Serene and Dominic Monaghan as Jack’s genius brother William.
- One story told many ways: Your choices in-game will affect the outcome of this fast-paced fusion between game and show giving the player a completely unique entertainment experience.
Why do fans still ask about Quantum Break 2?
The original was presented as a hybrid entertainment experience: action-game play combined with a live-action show. Xbox Wire described that format in its April 14, 2016 release-era article. The same article called Quantum Break “the biggest-selling new Microsoft Studios published IP this generation.” That is a period-specific ranking, not a numeric sales total and not evidence that a sequel was commissioned.
