As of October 8, 2026, Capcom has not officially announced Street Fighter 7 in the sources reviewed. Its public plans instead point to continued support for Street Fighter 6. That makes a near-term sequel uncertain, but it does not mean Capcom has canceled one or ruled out making it in the future.
Has Capcom announced Street Fighter 7?
No official announcement of Street Fighter 7 appears in the reviewed sources. Capcom’s latest cited update is about Street Fighter 6: the company said the game had passed 7 million cumulative sales and that four new characters were planned for its fourth year. Those plans establish ongoing support for SF6, not a release date or development status for a sequel. Capcom’s June 9, 2026 announcement

What Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 plans tell us
Capcom announced Street Fighter 6 in February 2022, describing it at the time as the series’ latest title in production and as the sequel to Street Fighter V. In 2026, the clearest public signal is that the company is still investing in SF6 rather than announcing its successor. Capcom’s February 21, 2022 announcement

In an interview published July 8, 2026, Street Fighter 6 producer Shuhei Matsumoto said he could not comment on whether there would be a major new update. He also said the team had wanted players to enjoy SF6 for “at least 10 years.” That is Matsumoto describing an ambition, not a guaranteed support period or a promise that Street Fighter 7 will never happen.
