The League of Legends World Championship Finals were livestreamed in IMAX Wanda theaters in China in November 2024, but available official information does not confirm a 2026 screening. There are no verified 2026 dates, participating cinemas, or ticket details to share yet.
What happened at IMAX Wanda theaters in 2024?
IMAX China’s 2024 Environmental, Social and Governance report says the company and Wanda Cinemas presented a livestream of the League of Legends World Championship Finals in November 2024. The broadcast reached nearly 160 theaters in 88 cities, according to the report, published in 2025. IMAX China said the presentation used IMAX Live technology and highlighted the format’s expanded field of view and gameplay detail. IMAX China Holding, Inc., 2024 ESG report.
Is a 2026 China screening confirmed?
No. The official sources available do not establish that a 2026 broadcast will take place in IMAX Wanda cinemas, or identify dates, venues, or ticket sales. Treat the 2024 screening as a past event, not confirmation of a recurring annual program.
What do the 2025 venue listings show?
Riot Games published a list of China theater locations for 2025 Worlds watch parties. Wanda and IMAX locations appear in that list, but it does not establish that every listed Wanda or IMAX cinema was an IMAX Wanda venue, nor does it announce a 2026 event. IMAX China’s 2025 annual report also names the League of Legends World Championship among live broadcasts in its reporting period. That supports the existence of Worlds programming during the period covered by the report; it is not a schedule for 2026 or confirmation of a Wanda location.
