How to use tile feedback
The New York Times Help Center explains the tile colors for Wordle in 1, a Wordle variation: green means the letter is in the right spot, yellow means it is in the word but in the wrong spot, and gray means it is not in the word. See The New York Times Help Center’s Wordle in 1 guidance. The page concerns that variation, rather than serving as a dedicated rules page for the original daily Wordle.
For this puzzle, use green tiles to keep confirmed positions, move yellow letters to other positions, and use gray feedback to rule letters out. Because PUPIL repeats P, consider whether feedback could reflect another occurrence of a letter rather than assuming every instance is accounted for by one tile.
