This is a historical DPS tier snapshot for World of Warcraft Classic Season of Discovery Phase 2, focused on Gnomeregan. The reported leading group included Fire Mage, Fire Warlock, Melee Hunter, and Shadow Priest, but the available evidence does not establish a reliable exact order or complete tier list. Treat it as a view of raid performance in a specific February 2024 tuning window—not advice about later phases or the game today.
Phase 2 and the scope of this ranking
Season of Discovery Phase 2 launched on February 8, 2024. Blizzard described the phase as allowing characters to level from 25 to 40 and introduced Gnomeregan as a six-boss, 10-player raid. Those details define what this ranking concerns: damage in Gnomeregan during Phase 2, not performance across all content or later versions of the game. Blizzard’s Phase 2 announcement.

Which specs were reported among the leaders?
A Warcraft Tavern search-result description identifies Fire Mage, Fire Warlock, Melee Hunter, and Shadow Priest among the leading options for Phase 2 Gnomeregan. This supports describing them as an upper group, not ranking them from first to fourth. The Warcraft Tavern page could not be directly inspected, and the accessible Wowhead charts do not expose readable numeric values; an exact ordering or DPS figure would therefore be unsupported. Percentile is not the same as a typical result
Wowhead’s third-week analysis, published February 28, 2024, used Warcraft Logs data for the week of February 20. It provides both a 95th-percentile view and an overall view. The 95th percentile is a high-end performance cut, not a promise of what an ordinary player or raid will achieve. Wowhead cautions that strong players can cluster on favored specs, while weaker or less popular specializations may have fewer logged players. It also notes that alternative strategies and parse funneling can skew top-percentile results. Wowhead’s week-three Gnomeregan analysis.

Overall damage and boss damage answer different questions
The analysis separates overall damage from damage dealt to bosses. Overall damage reflects the broader raid encounters, while boss damage isolates damage against the bosses. These measures can produce different impressions of a specialization; neither alone provides a complete account of raid contribution.
The snapshot has a specific tuning cutoff
The February 28 analysis includes tuning from February 20 and 21, but not the changes that followed on February 27. Wowhead’s next analysis, published March 7, examines the week of February 27 and includes that week’s tuning, while excluding March 5 changes. The later article repeats the percentile methodology and its caveats, but its accessible text likewise does not provide readable chart values. A ranking can shift with balance changes and the week of logs being examined; these two reports are dated snapshots, not a definitive, timeless ordering. Wowhead’s week-four Gnomeregan analysis.

What this tier list can—and cannot—tell you
The evidence supports a reported leading group, not a complete, numerically ordered tier list. Log rankings describe damage in logged raids under particular encounter and tuning conditions. They do not, by themselves, determine which specialization a player should choose: the available ranking does not establish raid utility, personal enjoyment, ease of execution, or performance for a particular group. Use the reported leaders as a historical performance signal, not as a guarantee of your own results or a recommendation for the current game.
