The beta and three-day early-access benefits were tied to the announced Epic Edition offer and are historical by the time of this article. Blizzard said early-access dates could change, actual play could be affected by outages and time zones, and some endgame features would not be available during early access. The page also said the boost and in-game items did not apply to WoW Classic.
How to prepare to play now
- Check your account and region. Sign in to Battle.net and confirm the World of Warcraft account and regional shop you intend to use.
- Confirm what you already own. Review your account’s game access before purchasing; Blizzard’s announced Base Edition included The War Within, but current entitlements and offers should be checked in your account.
- Decide which extras matter. Compare editions based on the expansion access and included prior expansion, boost and housing benefits, cosmetics and decor, game time and Tender, and any currently listed access benefits. Do not assume historical early-access or beta terms are still active.
- Check subscription or game-time access separately. An expansion entitlement and the account access needed to play are distinct considerations; verify the current requirements in Battle.net for your region.
The official material cited here does not establish required hardware, a mandatory class or gear level, an optimal leveling route, or a current patch download size. Avoid relying on those specifics without checking current official guidance.

What was in the Collector’s Edition?
Blizzard announced a physical World of Warcraft: Midnight Collector’s Edition containing a hardback art book, collector’s pin, Dark Heart replica, housing items, and a digital Epic Edition key. The Collector’s Edition announcement named Amazon Australia among additional retail options for Australia and New Zealand. That does not establish current stock, price, shipping, or availability in other regions; check the retailer listing directly. The physical edition is optional, not a requirement for playing the expansion.
